STAMPIN' UP! SENDING HUGS CARD IN FLIRTY FLAMINGO

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Flirty Flamingo ... a coral pink that I very seldom use. I have to say, though,  I LOVE how it looks on the card I have made!

Firstly, I am in love with the background I created, using a Plenty of Patterns Decorative Mask, and a Blending Brush, applying Flirty Flamingo ink on a panel of Flirty Flamingo card.  I intentionally made the pattern darker at the top, and lighter at the bottom, of the panel.  Using a sponge dauber, I inked the edges of this piece of card.

On a piece of Basic White card, I stamped the focal image in Basic Gray card.  After cropping it with a Stitched So Sweetly Die, I went to work with Stampin' Blends markers, in Flirty Flamingo and Smoky Slate.  I die-cut the leafy overlay from Basic Gray card, and added "HUGS" cut from Flirty Flamingo card, with Foam Adhesive Sheet used to attach the letters.  It was not until I saw this close up photo on my computer screen that I saw how "feathery" the foam adhesive looks.  Please ignore that!

I die cut a few extra flowers, and open leaves, to finish decorating the front of the card.  The "sending you" part of the sentiment was stamped in Basic Gray ink on a scrap of Basic White card, and the "thinking of you", placed at the bottom of the card front, was stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink on a piece of Flirty Flamingo card.  I scattered some Elegant Faceted Dots on the card front to finish.

Here's a closer view of the stencilled background, and added detail, at the top of the card:

  12. Christine your blended background is stunning. I actually thought it was a piece of designer series paper. I love all the layers to your beautiful card and the colour palette is just so pretty too. The two tones of grey work so well with Flirty Flamingo.
