STAMPIN' UP! HEART OF CHRISTMAS - WEEK 12

Tonight I am taking part, with some of my Australian Stampin' Up! demonstrator friends, in the Heart of Christmas blog hop.  Every Monday night, until the middle of December, we share Christmas creations made with Stampin' Up! products.

I have had great fun making a couple of simple cards to show off the Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper.  The only stamping on my cards is the sentiments, and I have used the Picture This Dies on both cards.

For my first card, I used the Picture This Die to cut three rectangles from the Pool Party checked paper.  I then used the same die to cut three other scraps of paper, to sit inside the apertures.

Here's a closer look at the sweet Golden Retriever entangled in lights.  A bow made with Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon sits above him:

I stamped three of the words from the Bright Baubles stamp set, on the small rectangle of Pool Party checked paper.  I trimmed this panel down a little, so it could be matted on a piece of Pool Party card that I also cut with the Picture This Die.  Before adhering the paper to the card, I sponged the edges with Pool Party ink, and added a couple of thin strips of Cherry Cobbler paper above and below the sentiment.

Matte Decorative Dots co-ordinate nicely with the colours in these papers, so they made for an ideal embellishment.

Here is my second card, made with even more patterns of paper from the Sweet Stockings DSP pack:

My card base is Old Olive, and I have decorated the front with two pieces of the predominantly green papers in the pack.

The three "pet" panels were cut using the Picture This Dies, and each mounted on a thin mat of Basic Black card.  After sticking down the images, I added a sentiment that I had white heat-embossed on a piece of Cherry Cobbler card, and cut using a Tasteful Labels Die.  I think this sentiment, from the Perfectly Plaid sentiment, is perfect for the cat's expression.  Droll?  Nonplussed?  It makes me laugh, and I hope you get a giggle from it, too!

Inside the card, I added a Basic White card panel, decorated with a strip of the starry paper to complement the design on the card front:
