ART WITH HEART COLOUR CREATIONS SHOWCASE - WEEK 40: REAL RED

This week some of my Stampin' Up! friends and I are showcasing Real Red on our projects.  I've always been a "red girl", and when I first started using Stampin' Up! products, Real Red featured heavily on my cards.  I haven't used it so much in recent years, so really enjoyed this week's challenge.  Cathy Proctor co-ordinates our weekly Colour Creations Showcases, and she has on her blog a comprehensive list of everyone participating this week.  We hope you enjoy checking out all our creations.

I have teamed Real Red with Pool Party and Basic White, adding accents in Crumb Cake and Basic Black.  I've employed the same background technique used on my last Colour Creations card - laying horizontal die-cut strips of Designer Series Paper to fill the card front.

On a piece of Basic White card, I stamped and fussy-cut a couple of Real Real flowers, from the Gorgeous Posies stamp set.  Leaves were stamped in Pool Party and Crumb Cake inks, on Basic White card, and fussy-cut.  I arranged the flowers and leaves on top of a vellum die-cut created using the circular floral die from the Flowering Vine Dies.  Underneath the cluster I tucked a couple of Basic Black leaf die cuts, that were created with Wild Rose Dies.

The flower centres are rhinestones coloured with my Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends marker.  What a gorgeous red, don't you think?

One of the sentiments from the Gorgeous Posies stamp set fit nicely on the Basic White strip at the bottom of the card front.  I used my Stamparatus to stamp it a few times (re-inking the stamp before each impression), to get a good saturation of Real Red ink.

Listed below are all the products I used to make this card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

Be sure to visit Cathy's blog, to see her beautiful Real Red project, and to find the links to the blogs of all other participants in this week's showcase.

I so enjoyed playing with Real Red that I made another couple of cards.  I will share them with you tomorrow, and the next day ... so please come back to visit!
