STAMPIN' UP! THANK YOU CARD IN DAFFODIL DELIGHT

For the second week in a row, we are showcasing a yellow, for the Colour Creations blog hop.  Last week, Crushed Curry was a challenge for me ... but Daffodil Delight, this week's colour, is a much brighter, cleaner, yellow that just screams "happiness". 🌞

I started the creation of tonight's card by choosing a Basic White die-cut cone flower, cut using Harvest Dies, that was already on my desk.  Using my Stampin' Blends markers, I coloured the petals in Daffodil Delight, the stem and leaves in Granny Apple Green, and the flower head/centre in Crumb Cake.  Also on my craft table was a Basic White piece of card that I had embossed with a Thanks & Hello Embossing Folder.  I love how these "leftover bits", with a few additions, came together to make this card:

I mounted the embossed white panel onto a piece of Daffodil Delight card, that I had stamped repeatedly with a stamp from Dragonfly Garden.  I stamped the flowers in Daffodil Delight ink, and sponged the edges of that piece with the same coloured ink.

Using a Seasonal Swirls Die, I cut a wreath from Granny Apple Green card, and snipped off the holly leaves.  I added the cone flower to the wreath, and decorated it with a bow made from Black & White Gingham Ribbon.  This complements the black stamped sentiment, and the Matte Black Dots I added to the tiny yellow flowers.

The sentiment, from Dragonfly Garden, was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White card, and cut out using a label from Meadow Dies.

I die cut a few glittery flowers, using a Pierced Blooms Die, and Ombre Specialty Paper (that is Mango Melody, but that has colour gradation allowing it to complement Daffodil Delight nicely).

Next up on tonight's blog hop is Andrea Sargent.  If you click on the button below, you will be taken to her blog:

  11. Your card makes me happy Christine. I love the stamped and sponged background but the real highlight is the coloured cone flower. It is stunning and I love the way you have grounded it with the wreath. The black and white ribbon and glittery flowers finish your card off beautifully.
