I don't normally use pink and purple together, when making cards, but I have made an exception for today's card. Fresh Freesia, one of the new In Colors in Stampin' Up!'s range, is a very pinky-purple. Although it's a soft, subdued colour, it goes well with Polished Pink, which is bright and bold.
My card started out with a piece of Well Suited Designer Series Paper, that is white with fine black grid lines. Using Blending Brushes, I applied Fresh Freesia ink to the bottom half, and Polished Pink ink to the top half. I flicked some water over the coloured areas, then adhered this panel to a Basic Black mat, alongside a strip of Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper. I added a thin vertical strip of Basic Black card between the two paper panels.
I love the font on the sentiment, from the Artistically Inked stamp set. I have gold heat-embossed it on a piece of Basic White card, that I then cropped using the Messages Die. The sentiment has been placed over the top of a Polished Pink circle, cut from Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper. I added a gold sprig above the sentiment, and a Fresh Freesia bow below. The gold sprig is from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack. The gold leaves that I tucked behind the flowers (in the photo above) were cut from excess gold paper in the ephemera pack, using Penned Flowers Dies. I felt rather virtuous, using the paper edges in this way - nice and economical!
