This week's Colour Creations Showcase, co-ordinated by Cathy Proctor, is all about Soft Sea Foam. This is the lightest green in Stampin' Up!'s range. I love its subtlety. Cathy has a list on her blog of all participants in this week's share; we hope you'll hop around all our blogs, to be inspired to use this lovely colour.
I decided Soft Sea Foam would be nice paired with Soft Succulent (one of Stampin' Up!'s new In Colors), to create a card with the Simply Succulents bundle. I've added some Gray Granite into the mix as well.
The beautiful die-cut background is Soft Sea Foam card, layered onto a mat of Soft Sea Foam card. I experimented with a few different things before settling on this. My first idea was to die-cut the background from Shimmery White card, and to colour it with Soft Sea Foam ink and Blending Brushes. It just didn't look like I thought it would; I'm much happier with the simple method of die-cutting Soft Sea Foam card!
If you look closely, you might just be able to detect a hint of shimmer on the green plants. I stamped the succulents, in Soft Succulent ink, on Shimmery White card, and coloured them using Soft Sea Foam and Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends. The pot is coloured using Gray Granite Stampin' Blends, and the Color Lifter pen. A Square Vellum Doily creates a bit of a break between the die-cut background, and the succulents in the pot.
Listed below are all the products used to make this card. If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.
