STAMPIN' UP! ARTISTICALLY INKED BRIGHT BIRTHDAY CARD

Some artwork I have on my wall at home inspired the colour combination for today's card:

I am in LOVE with the large "blobby" stamp in the Artistically Inked stamp set.  I have stamped it repeatedly on a piece of Basic White card, using the three colours above.  I was a bit worried that there would be muddying of the colours where they overlap, but it wasn't an issue.  This stamped piece forms the gorgeous background on my card:

I used the hinge-step stamping technique, with my Stamparatus, to stamp "Happy" three times on a piece of Basic White card.  These awesome sentiments come from the Biggest Wish stamp set.  I cropped this piece with a Stitched Rectangle Die.  Using my Stamparatus again, I stamped the scripty "birthday" in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, directly onto my colourful stamped background.

After cutting a couple of thin strips from the background panel, I adhered it (leaving small gaps) on a mat of Melon Mambo card.  A Basic White floral piece, cut using the Artistic Dies, was tucked behind the vertical sentiment panel before all the layers were stuck down.

I finished my card with a smattering of gorgeous sequins from the Expressions In Ink Ephemera Pack.

Tomorrow I will have another bright card to share, using a leftover piece of this background.

STAMPIN' UP! PLENTIFUL PLANTS HELLO CARD IN PINK

Today's card came about as a result of me stamping a plant pot, from the Plentiful Plants stamp set, onto a "concrete" looking piece of paper using Blushing Bride ink.  The paper is part of the Bloom Where You're Planted pack.  I just love that the pattern on the paper shows through the light pink ink.

The background floral paper is Hand-Penned Petals Designer Series Paper, and the twine is Snail Mail Twine.

Here's a closer look at the potted plant, in the hanging "macrame" basket.  I fussy-cut the plant from a sheet of Designer Series Paper, and slotted it behind the stamped and die-cut pot.  I then brought the leaves in front of the white die-cut hanging basket, that I glued over the top of the pot.  The little Gray Granite bird was cut using the Beautiful Trees Dies:

The Blushing Bride heart, cut using the Birds & More Dies, sits above a sentiment stamped in Blusing Bride ink, using the Artistically Inked stamp set.  The sentiment was cropped with and Ornate Frames Die, and some Elegant Faceted Gems added below.  The stitched zig-zag border was cut using a Basic Borders Die.

STAMPIN' UP! PLENTIFUL PLANTS FOR FUSION CHALLENGE

I'm back with a second blog post for today, to share a card I made for the current Fusion Card Challenge:

I'm playing along just with the sketch.  As soon as I saw this layout, I knew I wanted to play more with the Plentiful Plants bundle that is one of my current favourites.

Some of my favourite details on this card are the Stitched Greenery background (on Mint Macaron card), and the custom-stamped vertical strip I created with a stamp from Artistically Inked.  I repeatedly stamped, on Basic White card, what I like to call the "blobby" stamp (that gives a result similar to alcohol ink techniques) in Mint Macaron, Just Jade, and Evening Evergreen inks.

Check out the sweet details on the die-cut succulents and pots, using Perfect Plants Dies.  The succulents (in Mint Macaron and Evening Evergreen) sit on a Just Jade circle, cut using a Picture This Die.

The sentiment (from the Queen Anne's Lace stamp set) is stamped in Evening Evergreen ink, on a Basic White circle also cut using a Picture This Die.  I've added a Genial Gem, and a bow using Crumb Cake twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.

I wanted the background to my hanging basket to be a little darker (but not solid), so used a leftover piece of my stamped background.  I stamped over it again in Evening Evergreen ink, using the same stamp.  After cutting it out using a Layering Circles Die, I sponged the edges with Evening Evergreen ink.  The plant pot was stamped in Crumb Cake ink, and the plant in Mint Macaron ink.
