STAMPIN' UP! GILDED BUTTERFLY BEAUTY CONGRATULATIONS CARD

After cutting out some butterflies, in Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape card, using the largest of the Butterfly Beauty dies, I added some gold detail with Gilded Leafing flakes.  To do this, I used a sponge dauber to add Versamark ink to the butterflies (intentionally adding ink in a "random" fashion).  I then added Heat & Stick Powder to the inked areas, and melted it with my Heat Tool.  I pressed the sticky surface into my gold Gilded Leafing, and used a sponge to remove excess.  I love the glimmer and glam this added!

This was my first time using the Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass acetate, and I love how easy it was to apply.  I was a bit concerned about adhesive showing through, but I just dabbed Stampin' Seal on the reverse of parts of the purple design (it's silver on the reverse side, by the way!), and it stuck fast.  I wanted some gold to show through the acetate, but found a whole mat of Gold Foil was too heavy.  I ended up cutting three pieces of gold foil, slightly wider than the acetate panel.  I stuck the gold foil pieces to the Thick Whisper White card base, then adhered the Mercury Glass acetate over the top, allowing some gold and some white to show through the design on the acetate.

After adhering the butterflies (with Multipurpose Liquid Glue), I finished the card with a sentiment stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink, die cut with a label die from the Art Gallery bundle.  A couple of Gilded Gems were added, and the label raised up on Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
