HOC WEEK 14: STAMPIN' UP! DECORATIVE TREES CHRISTMAS CARDS IN NEUTRALS

Every Monday night, a group of us (all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia) takes part in a blog hop, to give you inspiration for using Stampin' Up! products in your Christmas crafting.

This week I'm sharing two cards featuring the beautiful Decorative Trees bundle, along with Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Papers.  The sheet of patterned paper I have used has Basic Beige and Crumb Cake on both sides, with gold on the side I've used for the first card.  I have added splashes of red to break up (or enhance!) the neutral tones.

CARD #1:

This paper is glorious!  I love a bit of shimmer and shine in conjunction with rustic-looking neutrals and patterns.  The panel of Designer Series Paper is matted on a thin Gold Foil layer, and the card base is Basic Beige.

I created the sentiment with my 2024-Christmas-go-to Peaceful Season bundle.  The "Christmas" is die-cut from Gold Foil (with Adhesive Sheet added to the back, making the die-cut word into a sticker).  The second part of the sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Basic Beige card, and cut out using one of the fabulous label dies in the bundle.

Cherry Cobbler & Gold Satin Ribbon was used to decorate the top of the card.  I first wrapped a length of ribbon around the top two layers, and secured the ends at the back with Tear & Tape.  Using Mini Glue Dots, I then stuck down a little bow made from the same ribbon.

The three trees were all cut using dies in the Decorative Trees bundle.  The gold tree was cut from Gold Foil Sheet.  The middle tree was stamped in Basic Beige ink, on Basic Beige card, and die-cut.  I sponged the edges with Basic Beige ink, and added tiny Cherry Cobbler die-cut bows and a Gold Goil star.  (Adhesive Sheet came in very handy for these little "bits", too.)  The third tree was created with two layers of Crumb Cake card.  The base layer is a simple tree die-cut, then sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  The top layer is another piece of Crumb Cake card, cut with one of the lovely detailed overlay dies.

                                                                       CARD #2:

Because this reverse side of the patterned paper is lighter (predominantly Basic Beige), I chose Real Red as the accent colour.

Using two stamps from the Decorative Tree stamp set, I stamped some borders directly onto the Designer Series Paper, using Crumb Cake ink.  I also used Crumb Cake ink to sponge around the edges of this panel, before matting it onto a Crumb Cake card layer (and Basic Beige card base).

The sentiment was created with the Peaceful Season bundle, and die-cut from Real Red card.  I white heat-embossed the "Merry".

One tree was stamped onto Crumb Cake card, using Versamark ink, and heat-embossed in gold.  I used two stamps - the tree outline, and the foliage detail - before die-cutting it out.

The second tree consists of two layers.  The base layer is a Basic Beige plain tree.  The decorative overlay was cut from Gold Foil sheet, as was the star added to the top.  The little bows were die-cut from Real Red card.

A border, stamped in Crumb Cake ink, anchors the trees.
