Sadly, this week is our last Heart of Christmas blog hop for the year! We hope you have gained lots of inspiration, for using Stampin' Up! products, over the last four months.
The card I am sharing tonight started off with a couple of the die-cut pieces from the A Little Bit Festive Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. The presents and the teddy were popped out from a sheet of DSP.
This close-up better shows the different tones of the two sides of Garden Green Two-Tone Cardstock. I cut one piece for my card front, then cut it in two before embossing it with the Dashing Designs 3D embossing folder. Lightly rubbing the embossed area with a sanding block reveals the white core of the paper. I sponged Garden Green ink around the outside edges of the two pieces of Garden Green cardstock, then mounted them on a Real Red panel and a Thick Basic White card base.
The bow is made of White Diagonal Trim. After tying the white bow, I coloured another length of the ribbon using my Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker (as we don't have a Stampin' Blends Marker in this green). As it's water-based ink, I left it to dry for a little while before tying the green ribbon around the centre of my white bow. I trimmed the ends, and attached it to the card using Mini Glue Dots.
The sentiment is from the Peaceful Season bundle. "Merry" was stamped in Garden Green ink on Basic White card, and cut using a banner die. After sticking some Adhesive Sheet to the back of a piece of Real Red card, I die-cut the word "Christmas". All I had to do was peel off the backing sheet, to apply the die-cut word like a sticker.
Gold Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems were my embellishment of choice.
Next up on tonight's blog hop is Sharon Davern:
Sharon has a full list of all participants in this week's blog hop, over on her blog. She has done a fantastic job of co-ordinating our Christmas shares every week for these 17 weeks!

What a sweet Christmas card Christine, the die cuts make a beautiful focal point for the card. The textured two tone card stock makes a very effective background
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable card, Christine! Those die cuts are delightful and you've combined them perfectly. I was trying to work our the die you'd used for the background and then I realised you sanded the embossed two-side cardstock. What a dramatic effect!
