This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Granny Apple Green. I decided to make a couple of Christmas cards featuring this colour, as it appears in my favourite Reindeer Days Designer Series Papers (and because I will be away for next week's Heart of Christmas blog hop, and need to build up my Christmas card stash!).
CARD #1:
The Basic White panel in the background was embossed with a Basics 3D embossing folder, before being matted on a Garden Green layer and Granny Apple Green card base.
I die-cut the "wreath" using a Reindeer Fun Die, and a Spotlight on Nature die (the one I call "the paper plate" die ☺). The beautiful shimmery Granny Apple Green Glimmer Paper was used for my focal tree. I white heat-embossed the tree onto the glimmer paper before cutting it out using a co-ordinating Decorative Trees Die.
The bow was made with White Diagonal Trim, that I'd coloured with my Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends marker.
A strip of Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper was adhered to the bottom of the embossed Basic White panel. I added a thin strip of Garden Green card before sticking down the tree and wreath piece.
The two holly stickers are from the Reindeer Memories Scrapbooking Workshop kit. I added some Cherry Cobbler Adhesive-Backed Berries.
The sentiment was one I had created a little while ago, when first playing with the new Christmas products. The two words are from the Greetings of the Season stamp set. Please forgive my rather patchy heat-embossing! I cut out the "Merry" with a Lovely & Sweet Die, after embossing it on Garden Green card, and the "Christmas" was cut with a Peaceful Season Die, from Granny Apple Green card.
Inside the Granny Apple Green card, I added a Basic White layer, with a strip of the same DSP as on the card front.
CARD #2:
I'm rather taken with being able to white heat-emboss trees on glimmer paper, so made another card while I was at it.
The embossed Basic White panel was this time created with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder. I used the same two dies to cut the wreath, but this time I cut it from Garden Green card.
It has been a minute since I used the gorgeous Adhesive-Backed Peppermints, so decided they'd be my embellishment for this card!
I added a thin strip of Granny Apple Green Glimmer Paper between the DSP and white embossed pieces.
Next up on tonight's blog hop is Catherine Proctor:
Cathy also has on her blog a full list of participants in this week's blog hop. She does a fantastic job of co-ordinating our Colour Creations shares every week; they wouldn't happen without her!

Your white heat-embossed trees on glimmer paper look amazing on both of your cards, Christine. I love the way you have die-cut your custom wreaths by using a combination of the Reindeer Fun Die and the Spotlight on Nature die - and yes it does look like a paper plate! You've used the stickers really well on both cards, too!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I love the effect of that Reindeer Fun die cut with the Spotlight on Nature die, so cool. The glimmer tree looks amazing with the white heat embossing too. What spectacular cards. Have a lovely time away next week x
