This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Wild Wheat, the last of the five new Stampin' Up! In Colors that we're showcasing before going on to new and returning Core Colors. I think Wild Wheat is probably the most polarising of the new In Colors. I love it, and have paired it with Pool Party - not a colour I would've thought of, but I think it looks fab. My sister, whose eye for design is often quite different to mine, was visiting on a day when I was thinking about what to create with Wild Wheat. She suggested Pool Party, so I took on the challenge!
To a Thick Very Vanilla card base, I added a Very Vanilla layer that I'd embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder.
I used Wild Wheat ink to stamp the sentiment on Very Vanilla card. This piece was cropped with a Deckled Rectangles Die, and run through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine again after moving the die, to cut the rectangle even smaller.
I stamped the leafy sprigs on Very Vanilla card, using Wild Wheat ink. There is a solid stamp in the Layering Leaves set, to fill in the leaves, but I opted to colour them using the Light Wild Wheat Stampin' Blends marker. The Bough Punch was used to punch them out.
Next to the sentiment label, I added a couple of Ombre Matte Decorative Dots (technically Coastal Cabana, but they play nicely with the Pool Party elements on my card).
The Earthen Textures bundle was, I think, the perfect choice for containing the foliage and adding some stamped interest. I am having trouble putting this bundle down lately. 😄
The bottom third of my card front panel is covered in Wild Wheat Designer Series Paper, from the In Color pack. I used Wild Wheat Textured Ribbon, and Wild Wheat In Color Dots, to finish off my design.
