STAMPIN' UP! LAYERING LEAVES CARD FEATURING WILD WHEAT

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Wild Wheat, the last of the five new Stampin' Up! In Colors that we're showcasing before going on to new and returning Core Colors.  I think Wild Wheat is probably the most polarising of the new In Colors.  I love it, and have paired it with Pool Party - not a colour I would've thought of, but I think it looks fab.  My sister, whose eye for design is often quite different to mine, was visiting on a day when I was thinking about what to create with Wild Wheat.  She suggested Pool Party, so I took on the challenge!

To a Thick Very Vanilla card base, I added a Very Vanilla layer that I'd embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder.

I used Wild Wheat ink to stamp the sentiment on Very Vanilla card.  This piece was cropped with a Deckled Rectangles Die, and run through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine again after moving the die, to cut the rectangle even smaller.

I stamped the leafy sprigs on Very Vanilla card, using Wild Wheat ink.  There is a solid stamp in the Layering Leaves set, to fill in the leaves, but I opted to colour them using the Light Wild Wheat Stampin' Blends marker.  The Bough Punch was used to punch them out.

Next to the sentiment label, I added a couple of Ombre Matte Decorative Dots (technically Coastal Cabana, but they play nicely with the Pool Party elements on my card).

The Earthen Textures bundle was, I think, the perfect choice for containing the foliage and adding some stamped interest.  I am having trouble putting this bundle down lately. 😄

The bottom third of my card front panel is covered in Wild Wheat Designer Series Paper, from the In Color pack.  I used Wild Wheat Textured Ribbon, and Wild Wheat In Color Dots, to finish off my design.

STAMPIN' UP! BEAUTIFUL BALLOONS BIRTHDAY CARD IN GREENS

The Beautiful Balloons bundle is one of my favourites in the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.  Today's card was made with the stamps, Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper, and the awesome new Wanted to Say Dies.

The background paper has an ombre effect, and irregular stripes.  I stamped small balloons and confetti directly onto the paper, using Lost Lagoon ink for the top half, and Pretty Peacock ink for the bottom half.

The balloons were stamped on Basic White card, using Pool Party, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock inks.  After cutting out this piece with a Deckled Rectangles Die, I stamped tiny stars and dots in Pool Party ink, just on the bottom third.  I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the balloon strings.

The focal piece was matted onto a slightly larger Deckled Rectangle, die cut from Pretty Peacock card.  I sponged around the edges with Pretty Peacock ink, and added Loose Frosted Dots (stuck on with tiny dots of liquid glue).

Check out that gorgeous Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon.  I love the mottled colour, and the slightly rustic texture.

I am also loving the new Wanted To Say Dies .... I'm a sucker for any word dies that create two layers, so a sentiment can be matted or used on its own.  I die-cut the top layer from Lost Lagoon card (using Adhesive Sheet on the card before cutting, so it created a sticker for easy application to the white layer).
