STAMPIN' UP! HEART OF CHRISTMAS - WEEK 17

For this week's Heart of Christmas blog hop, I have made a couple of cards featuring the beautiful Delicate Baubles Dies.  I have kept the cards simple, the idea being that they would be easy to make multiples of, if you were so inclined (I personally am hopeless at this efficient method of card-making!).

My first card shows off a couple of designs from the Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper pack.

I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink on a scrap of Basic White card, cropped it using the Messages Die, and popped it up on Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, to sit on top of the bauble "string".  The Cherry Cobbler border, between the two different patterned papers, was cut using a Basic Borders Die.

The intricate snowflake bauble overlay was cut from Basic White Card, and adhered to a solid Pool Party bauble die-cut.  Some Cherry Cobbler Matte Decorative Dots finish off the card.

My second card has a very different look, in an elegant gold and white colour scheme.

I cut both the solid bauble base, and the intricately-detailed overlay, from Gold Metallic Paper.  I haven't quite captured the beautiful shimmer in my photos, but here you can see the lovely detail.  The gold and white striped paper is from the Expressions in Ink DSP pack, and Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots were my embellishment of choice.

Doesn't the Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder produce a gorgeous white background?

  1. Christine, snap on the gold metallic paper - it is so hard to photograph exactly how shimmery it is but I can see just how stunning both your cards are. You've showcased the Bright Baubles bundle beautifully and, as usual, you've incorporated the basic borders seamlessly!

  3. Lovely! Your colour choice in the first card is great and really echo's the Merry and Bright sentiment. Love the elegance of the gold and white in your second card and the look of the die-cut and bauble both bring gold. Gorgeous cards.

  4. Your cards are so different, but both are so lovely. The first is quite playful to me, and the second is very elegant. Too hard to pick a favourite!

  5. I had to do a double take when I saw your second card this week. Look out for my card next week. I really love your first card although you talk about its simplicity it's still a beautiful card and the colour combination although unusual for Christmas is lovely and bright and cheery.

  6. Eaney, meaney, miney, mo!!! I love the way you have used the rick rack die on the first card and also love the gold on gold on the embossed white background for your second card Christine. After much consideration, the first wins by a whisker because I love that DSP and the way you have used it.

  7. You sure are loving this bundle and some more beautiful cards. I like how you added the Cherry Cobbler Matt dots on the first card. The second card is very stylish with the gold brushed foil.
