STAMPIN' UP! HAND-PENNED PETALS BIRTHDAY CARD

Today I have to share with you a birthday card I recently made for a pink-loving friend.

I first stamped two of the floral images on Basic White card, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and cut them out using the co-ordinating die.  I've used Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens to colour the flowers (Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo) and leaves (Granny Apple Green and Old Olive).  The flower centres are Daffodil Delight.

The 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum is really beautiful, and I wanted to incorporate some on this card, without it being overpowering.  I die-cut the open-flower piece from the Polished Pink vellum, and snipped off the leaves, before tucking it under the Polished Pink scalloped rectangle piece (that I'd embossed with a Dotty Hearts embossing folder).

This photo also gives a close-up of the Pretty Flowers embossed background, the Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon bow, and one of the Polished Pink jewels I added to the card:

The sentiment (from Many Messages), stamped in Versamark on Basic Black card, and heat-embossed with white embossing powder, was die-cut using the Messages Die:

STAMPIN' UP! SYMPATHY CARD IN HIGHLAND HEATHER

I so enjoyed creating with Highland Heather for last night's blog hop, that I made a second card.  I started off using the same technique as on this card I made a couple of months ago.  I embossed a piece of Shimmery White card with the gorgeous Magnolia 3D embossing folder.  Using Stampin' Blends markers, I then coloured the flowers in Highland Heather, the centres in So Saffron, and the leaves in Mint Macaron.  In the background, I stamped the "splatter" stamp, from Quiet Meadow, in Highland Heather ink (stamped off first onto scrap paper, to give a lighter impression on my card).

I cut two clusters of stems from Basic White card, using a Harvest Die, then coloured them using Light and Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blends.  After trimming them (and deciding they look like lavender!), I adhered them to the embossed panel, and added a White Glittered Organdy Ribbon bow.

I trimmed the width of the Shimmery White embossed panel, to reveal a little of the Highland Heather Designer Series Paper on which it is matted.  The sentiment, from Many Happenings, was stamped in Basic Gray ink (using my Stamparatus) on Basic White card (only because I forgot to use Shimmery White, to tie in with the card base and the embossed panel!).  I used the Messages Die to cut it out.

Opal Rounds are a nice embellishment to use with the purple and green tones on my card.
