STAMPIN' UP! SENDING LOVE BIRTHDAY CARD IN LEMON LIME TWIST

In his week's Colour Creations blog hop, we are showcasing is  Lemon Lime Twist, a bright and happy yellowy-green in Stampin' Up!'s Brights collection.

I chose a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Flowering Zinnias DSP pack, as my starting point for the background.  The pack includes patterned papers in Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive and Melon Mambo, which provided colour inspiration.  Here's what I made, using the sweet Sending Love stamps and co-ordinating dies:

To decorate the top right and bottom left corners, I tore small pieces of the Melon Mambo floral paper, and sponged the straight edges with Melon Mambo ink.  The hearts were stamped in Melon Mambo ink on Basic White card, and die-cut.  I really like the white edges that help them to pop, and that tie in with the white core of the paper.

The main images were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured with Stampin' Blends.  I used Crumb Cake to colour the post and letterbox base, and Old Olive for the flag on the letterbox.  After stamping the letterbox on a scrap of the Lemon Lime Twist DSP (the same as the background), I fussy-cut it and coloured over it using Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Blends.  I then glued it over the letterbox stamped on the Basic White card.
The bird was coloured with Melon Mambo Stampin' Blends.  I added a Lemon Lime Twist Tinsel Gem, and a white baker's twine bow, to the letterbox.

The sentiment is from the Friends For Life stamp set.  Using Lemon Lime Twist ink, I stamped it six times (reinking each time) to get the depth of colour I wanted.  I cut it out using a Perennial Postage Die, and matted the label on a slightly larger piece of Lemon Lime Twist card that I'd sponged the edges of with Lemon Lime Twist ink.

The second bird was coloured with Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends.  I die-cut the bushes from Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive cardstock.  I really love the look of the glassy Tinsel Gems on this card.

I sponged the edges of the background paper with Lemon Lime Twist ink, before matting it on Old Olive card.

HOC WEEK 17: STAMPIN' UP! A LITTLE BIT FESTIVE CHRISTMAS CARD

Sadly, this week is our last Heart of Christmas blog hop for the year!  We hope you have gained lots of inspiration, for using Stampin' Up! products, over the last four months.

The card I am sharing tonight started off with a couple of the die-cut pieces from the A Little Bit Festive Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.  The presents and the teddy were popped out from a sheet of DSP.

This close-up better shows the different tones of the two sides of Garden Green Two-Tone Cardstock.  I cut one piece for my card front, then cut it in two before embossing it with the Dashing Designs 3D embossing folder.  Lightly rubbing the embossed area with a sanding block reveals the white core of the paper.  I sponged Garden Green ink around the outside edges of the two pieces of Garden Green cardstock, then mounted them on a Real Red panel and a Thick Basic White card base.

The bow is made of White Diagonal Trim.  After tying the white bow, I coloured another length of the ribbon using my Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker (as we don't have a Stampin' Blends Marker in this green).  As it's water-based ink, I left it to dry for a little while before tying the green ribbon around the centre of my white bow.  I trimmed the ends, and attached it to the card using Mini Glue Dots.

The sentiment is from the Peaceful Season bundle.  "Merry" was stamped in Garden Green ink on Basic White card, and cut using a banner die.  After sticking some Adhesive Sheet to the back of a piece of Real Red card, I die-cut the word "Christmas".  All I had to do was peel off the backing sheet, to apply the die-cut word like a sticker.

Gold Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems were my embellishment of choice.

Here are the sweet die-cut pieces that provide a simple solution for the focal point of a card.

STAMPIN' UP! SIMPLY ZINNIAS BIRTHDAY CARD IN PURPLES

I had a few leftover "bits" from making my card for this week's Colour Creations blog hop, so have put together another Simply Zinnias card.  I loved the card I made yesterday, but I think I love this one even more.

The background paper, and the circle on which I've embossed the sentiment, is from the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper pack.

For this card, I used the oblong frame die from the Lifetime of Love set, and Granny Apple Green card.

The sentiment, from Labeled With Love, was white heat-embossed onto a piece of Designer Series Paper, then die-cut using a Stylish Shapes Die.  The flowers were die-cut from Basic White and Highland Heather card, and Highland Heather ink applied with a Blending Brush.

I used a mix of Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape Fine Shimmer Gems on this card.

If you REALLY use your imagination, you might be able to believe that I painted the flower centres with Wink of Stella!  LOL.

Inside the card, I added a Basic White panel, simply decorated with a strip of the DSP I used for the sentiment circle.
