HOC WEEK 3: STAMPIN' UP! REINDEER DAYS CHRISTMAS CARDS

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop - a Monday night "institution" for the next few months!  We are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia, and are sharing inspiration for using Stampin' Up! products in your Christmas crafting.

There's a new Mini Catalogue coming out on 4th September.  We demonstrators have been able to pre-order the beautiful new products, and tonight I am sharing sneak peeks of some of the components of the Reindeer Days suite (my #1 "must have"  from the catalogue).  The feature of both of my cards is the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper.  The sentiments were created with the Peaceful Season bundle - a fabulous mix of stamps and dies.

CARD #1:

It was only after I'd finished, and photographed, this card that I noticed some stray ink on the "C".  I am embracing the beauty of imperfectly handmade!

The background panel of Real Red card is embossed with the new Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder.  I stamped "Happy" in Real Red ink on Basic White card, and "Christmas" in Granny Apple Green ink on Basic White card.  Both stamps, and the dies used to cut them out, are from the Peaceful Season bundle.

Check out the adorable Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints!  My favourite embellishment of the season, these will be added to LOTS of my Christmas cards. 😄

I cut a Basic White square, using a Stylish Shapes Die.  After embossing it with the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder, I matted this piece on a slightly larger square of Garden Green card.
The reindeer was die-cut from Reindeer Days DSP, using a Reindeer Fun Die.  I couldn't resist adding a tiny Adhesive-Backed Peppermint to the reindeer's collar.

The bottom part of the card front is one of the Reindeer Days Designer Series Papers (from which I drew my colour scheme).  I adhered a thin strip of Garden Green card between the Real Red embossed panel, and the DSP panel, before gluing down the reindeer square.

A little strip of the same patterned paper was added inside the card, to a Basic White panel on which to write a message.

CARD #2:

The gorgeous Reindeer Days DSP does all the hard work on this card.  I am loving the colour combination of Granny Apple Green, Garden Green and Real Red.

Once again I've used the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder, but this time on Granny Apple Green card.

I cut a Garden Green Deckled Rectangle, and a smaller Deckled Rectangle from the present-patterned paper.

The sentiment was stamped in Garden Green ink on Granny Apple Green card, and Real Red ink on Basic White card.  I cut out the words with co-ordinating dies from the Peaceful Season bundle.

The sparkly embellishments added to my card are new Drusy Adhesive-Backed Elements.  Very glimmery and textural!

  1. You have been busy this week - 2 cards! I really like the Granny Apple Green / Real Red and Garden Green colour combination for Christmas too! It's so happy and festive. I particularly love your first card. Carrying the embossed background over to the piece under the reindeer was a great idea. I love the contrast of the large red area with the strip of busier DSP too. It comes together beautifully!

  2. Wow, two wonderful cards Christine. I love them. The Forever Plaid 3D embossing is delightful in the background of your cute reindeer. The little peppermint on the collar is a special touch. A gorgeous combination of DSP and embossed cardstock behind the focal panel too. I LOVE your sentiment. I hadn’t really focussed on it in the catalogue but will be checking it out now. xxx

Two gorgeous cards Christine. The first is my favourite, that reindeer looks so joyful and the candy peppermint is too cute. Such a bright, happy colour scheme for Christmas is lovely too!

How cute is this new suite of products? And so easy to create beautiful cards as you have shown. What is even better is that the dies coordinate with the beautiful paper so no fussy cutting! Those peppermints on the first card are very cute too.
