Here's the second birthday cake card I made with the Ready To Ride Designer Series Papers. I love this stamp set, and the papers, and will be sorry to see them retire at the beginning of May, when we get a new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. The Radiating Stitches Dies that add so much great detail to my card are an Online Exclusive product, so are not affected by catalogue release dates.
I stamped the main image on Very Vanilla card, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I cut out the focal panel with a Radiating Stitches Die, and matted it on a slightly bigger piece of Basic Black card.
The words were coloured with Soft Suede Stampin' Blends markers, and Matte Black Dots were my embellishment of choice.
To create the entire stitched frame, I cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie card to the size of the largest rectangle die in the Radiating Stitches Die set. Before die-cutting it, I adhered a piece of Soft Suede DSP, and Pumpkin Pie DSP, from the Ready To Ride pack, leaving just a small section of Pumpkin Pie card visible at the top. I also glued down a couple of Basic Black strips of card, for some contrast.
Because the American-sized frames are not sized to fit an Australian A5 card front, I added some Basic Borders die-cut detail, in Soft Suede to match the card base, at the top and bottom of my largest Radiating Stitches frame.
I used Stampin' Blends in Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede, and Basic Black to colour the cake and plate. A double knot of Pumpkin Pie twine was added to the right of my focal panel.
Listed below are the products I used to make this card. If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.
