STAMPIN' UP! BEST DAY READY TO RIDE BIRTHDAY CAKE CARD #1

The Ready To Ride Designer Series Papers are fantastic for masculine cards, and can be paired with any number of stamp sets.  I have made a couple of cards with the fun-to-colour cake image from the Best Day stamp set, and these beautiful papers.  Here's the first one, with the next card to follow on my blog tomorrow.

I stamped the focal image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Very Vanilla card, then cropped it with a Stitched Rectangles Die.  This fit beautifully on a Soft Suede Radiating Stitches die-cut piece.

The "Happy Birthday" was coloured using Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends markers.

After colouring the cake with Soft Suede Stampin' Blends (and the plate with Basic Black Stampin' Blends), I added some Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots.

I laid two lengths of Pumpkin Pie twine (from the Three Twine Combo Pack) across my card, at the join of the two patterned papers.  I used Stampin Seal+ to secure the twine at the back of the Basic Black card on which the layers are matted.  Using two shorter lengths of the twine, I tied a double knot around the front.

After adhering the main art piece with Black Stampin' Dimensionals (much more subtle than white, when using dark coloured card), I tucked under the top edge of the framed pieces an Enamel Sticker Icon that I'd coloured with the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends marker.  It was a bit hard to get a close-up shot - lots of reflection and light interference - but here it is:

Listed below are all the products I used to make my card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.  Most of the products I have used on this card are available only until the beginning of May (when Stampin' Up!'s new Annual Catalogue comes out), so if you love them, you might want to add them to your stash soon!

The card I'll be sharing tomorrow uses the same colours, and some of the same products, but in a slightly different way, so please come back to visit if you'd like some more ideas for a masculine birthday card.
