STAMPIN' UP! BUTTERFLY BRILLIANCE BIRTHDAY CARD IN MELON MAMBO

Every Wednesday night, the Colour Creations blog hop is centred around one of Stampin' Up!'s colours.  We (all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia) are working our way through the colour range, in alphabetical order.  This week's colour is Melon Mambo, a bold, deep, pink.

The Butterfly Brilliance stamp is a beautiful, large, background stamp.  Attached to the plate of my Stamparatus, and inked up in Melon Mambo ink, it created the background panel with one impression.  I stamped onto Basic White card, then used a Blending Brush to add Melon Mambo ink.

On a smaller piece of Basic White card, I stamped Butterfly Brilliance again - but this time, I'd inked only one butterfly in Versamark ink.  I heat-embossed it in white, and coloured it using Melon Mambo Stampin' Blends markers.  It was die-cut using the large Brilliant Wings die that fits over the entire stamped image (with all the butterflies).

I die-cut the first part of the sentiment from Silver Foil and Melon Mambo card, making sure to use Adhesive Sheet on the back of the card before cutting.  This made it easier to layer the two pieces together (with no glue mess), and add the sentiment to my card.

I cut a Scalloped Contour rectangle from Basic White card, and embossed it using an Elegant Eucalyptus 3D Embossing Folder.  Matted on Silver Foil, this created a base on which to stick the single butterfly and the sentiment.  Both the die-cut and stamped sentiments were created with the Sending Smiles bundle.

I wrapped White Glittered Organdy Ribbon around the card front layers, before adhering the focal butterfly and sentiment piece, then added a bow to the side.

You can (faintly!) see in the photo below that I added Wink of Stella to the butterfly wings.

Iridescent Pearls were my choice of embellishment, to finish off my card.

  1. This is adorable, Christine. I love your blending over the background image and the White scalloped layer embossed with the Elegant Eucalyptus folder, is so sweet. The ribbon, pearls and silver tones are very elegant. A beautiful card.

  2. Wow, Christine, you have totally embraced this bold pink on your card and I love it! The scalloped and embossed panel and touches of silver really contrast with the pink but still let it be the star of the show.

  4. Such a pretty pretty card to showcase Melon Mambo. The silver adds such an elegant touch and The Wink Of Stella on the main butterfly is gorgeous. (Note to self, remember how if adds another dimension)
