STAMPIN' UP! BLESSINGS OF HOME BIRTHDAY CARD IN GARDEN GREEN

Tonight's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Garden Green, a mid-green in Stampin' Up!'s range.  I love green, but seldom use this one, so was a little unsure of how I'd use it.  Turns out, I was able to make a card I'm very happy with!

I love the background on this card.  After cutting a panel of Garden Green paper from the Gingham Cottage DSP pack, I ran it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine, with the Stitched Greenery Die.   I sponged Garden Green ink around the edges of this piece, then adhered it to a Garden Green mat and Thick Basic White card base.

The large floral spray from Blessings of Home was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on Basic White card.  I coloured the images with Watercolor Pencils, and a Blender Pen.  The colours used are Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Garden Green.  I die-cut the coloured piece, and added a few white die-cut foliage pieces before adhering it to the gingham background.

This photo gives a closer view of the Stitched Greenery background, and parts of the coloured flowers:

The sentiment was stamped in Garden Green ink on Basic White card, and cut out using a Sending Die.  I cut a strip of Garden Green card with a leafy Delicate Edges Die, and placed it underneath the sentiment label.  To finish off, I added Elegant Faceted Gems, to the sentiment strip and around the floral spray.

  1. Oh, how delightful! The stitched detail on the DSP looks fantastic. The coloured blooms are wonderful, very autumnal colours - perfect for the Garden Green background.

  2. I totally agree with you about Garden Green, Christine. It's a colour I like but rarely use too. Your water coloured floral spray from Blessings of Home looks wonderful and your colour combination of Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight works really well with Garden Green.

  3. A beautiful card Christine. I love your water-coloured flower arrangement. Your colouring is lovely. Also love the way you have embossed the background with the stitched leaves die. I haven’t played with the Delicate Borders dies - must get them out. Xxx

  4. A surprise to see DSP with the stitched leaves, but a great addition that sets off the flowers beautifully.

  6. Such a beautiful card Christine and love the background paper 😉. Adding the Stitched Greenery die softens it nicely. Your colouring of the floral spray is just beautiful. Reminds me I’ve also got those border dies and must have a play. Theresa

  7. Oh, Christine, that background is amazing! I was thinking you embossed a piece of lighter cardstock, then I was trying to work out how you got the ink lines... how cool using the Gingham Cottage dsp. Bingo on the sentiment & Stitched Greenery background (my favourite)! Your colouring and choice of colours for your floral image is beautifully done.
