Tonight I am taking part in a blog hop with some Stampin' Up! friends, showcasing Blackberry Bliss.
I had a stamped and die-cut piece left over after creating last week's Colour Creations card, so have incorporated it in this week's card (in an effort to not be as wasteful as I tend to be with "leftovers"). It's the Crumb Cake panel, stamped with white leaves. Unusually for me, I've made a large square card - it's 14.5cm square.
I have teamed Blackberry Bliss, a seldom-used colour in my repertoire, with a stamp set I have barely used - Timeless Tulips. I adore tulips, and really like the dramatic look of very dark purple tulips, so that's what I have created. The flowers, leaves and stems on my card were all stamped on Shimmery White card. Starting with the tulips, I inked up the stamp each time in Blackberry Bliss ink, spritzed it lightly with water, then stamped it onto the card. I was going for an irregular watercoloured look, and like how they turned out. I employed the same technique for the leaves and stems, but using Mossy Meadow ink.
Here's a close-up of the flowers, and the embossed circle behind them. I used the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder on a circle of Shimmery White card:
