HOC WEEK 6: STAMPIN' UP! HUMBLE HOME GLIMMER CHRISTMAS CARD

It's Monday night, which means a group of us (all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia) are taking part in a blog hop, to provide you with ideas on how to use Stampin' Up! products in your Christmas crafting.

The card I am sharing this week features the cutest little house (that I think of as a gingerbread house), created with the new Humble Home bundle.

The background is a panel of Basic White card that I embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder.  It is mounted on a slightly larger Garden Green panel.  This close-up better shows the sparkle of the Festive Glimmer Paper (in Garden Green) that I used for a few accents.

The sentiment was stamped in Real Red and Garden Green ink on Basic White card, and cut out using a Spotlight on Nature Die.  I adhered this decorative circle to a Deckled Circle, die-cut from Real Red card.

Here's a closer look at the details of the little scene on my card front.  The house was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on Basic White card, and coloured using Stampin' Blends markers.  I used Pecan Pie and Real Red on the house, adding a little Daffodil Delight in the windows.  I intended for it to look like light in the windows, but a friend pointed out it looks like curtains!

The house was punched out using the co-ordinating punch.  I stamped the wreath on a scrap of Basic White card, and fussy-cut it out.  To colour the wreath, I used Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends, and added some dotty detail with my Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker.  The bow was coloured with Real Red Stampin' Blends.

To ground the house and trees, I cut a piece of Graceful Greenery Vellum using an Around The Bend Die.  After adhering the vellum to the embossed Basic White background, I added trees that I fussy-cut from Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper.  I then stuck down the house, and finished off the design with a couple of little hearts punched out of Garden Green Glimmer Paper.

As the card base is Granny Apple Green, I added a piece of Basic White card to the inside.  A few more trees, fussy-cut from the DSP, were added to carry over the design from the card front.

Next up on tonight's blog hop is Catherine Proctor:

  1. Christine your gingerbread house card is super cute, even if the lights in the windows may be mistaken as curtains, LOL. Either way, it is a wonderfully festive scene with so many adorable elements.
