HOC WEEK 5: STAMPIN' UP! TARTAN REINDEER FUN CHRISTMAS CARD

Monday night means it's Heart of Christmas blog hop time, and once again I have a Reindeer Fun card to share with you.  I'll have lots of examples, of how to use this cute stamp and die bundle, and co-ordinating products from the Reindeer Days suite, in Heart of Christmas blog posts in the coming weeks.  These gorgeous new products will be available to purchase in only two days.

The beautiful background paper is from the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper pack.  It's matted on a Garden Green card layer, and a Granny Apple Green card base.

Using a Greetings of the Season Die (an Online Exclusive product), I cut a Basic White tag.  I then embossed it using the new Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder.  The reindeer head was cut using three dies - the base layer from Early Espresso card, the middle layer from Basic White card, and the top layer from Pecan Pie card.  Before assembling the pieces, I added a little colour to the reindeer's ears, using my Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blends marker.

There is some Granny Apple Green Glimmer Paper coming out in the September - December Mini Catalogue, but I didn't have any when I made this card.  Old Olive Glimmer Paper is a perfectly acceptable alternative for the die-cut wreath.

The bow at the top of the tag is made with two strands of Natural Tones Linen Thread, also a new product.  I've gone to town with Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints - my favourite embellishment of the season!

The sentiment was created using the Peaceful Season bundle.  I stamped "Merry" on Garden Green card, uisng Versamark ink, and white heat-embossed it before cutting it out with the little banner die.  "Christmas" was stamped in Granny Apple Green ink on Basic White card, and cut out using the awesome co-ordinating die.

Inside the card, I added a Basic White panel on which a message will be written.  In Garden Green ink, I stamped another sentiment from Peaceful Season.

Next up on tonight's blog hop is Kate Morgan:

If the link doesn't work, or if you would like to see a full list of participants in this week's blog hop, head over to Sharon Davern's blog.  Sharon does a wonderful job of co-ordinating our Heart of Christmas blog hops.

I can't yet link to these delightful new products, as they won't hit my online store until 4th September.  I have, however, listed below all the current products I've used on this card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

  5. The tartan look is adorable Christine. Takes me to my Scottish roots! I like the way the embossed tag and background DSP work together, and the sparkly wreath gives a nice dose of festive bling.
