HEART OF CHRISTMAS WEEK 16: STAMPIN' UP! BRIGHTEST GLOW CARD

It's Monday night, which means the Heart of Christmas blog hop is on again.  A group of us, all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia, shares ideas for using Stampin' Up! products to create Christmas projects.

The card I'm sharing tonight is a simple, bright design ... red and green, but using Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce, it's a little brighter than the traditional combo.   I would normally choose gold to go with red and green, but decided to mix things up a little, and use silver.

The two panels of patterned paper are from the Santa Express Designer Series Paper pack.  They are adhered to a mat of Silver Foil card.

I used my new Framed Florets Dies to cut the oval frames, and inner oval, from Thick Basic White card and Silver Foil card.  As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I was able to purchase these dies (part of a bundle you are going to want!) ahead of their general release in November.

On the inner white oval, you'll see I cut snowflakes out, using the Labels Aglow Dies.  I positioned the ovals so you'd see some of the Poppy Parade paper through the top three snowflake cut-outs, and the Shaded Spruce paper through the bottom four.  I stamped the sentiment in Poppy Parade ink, and added a Real Red crinkled ribbon bow.

In the photos below, you'll more clearly see the Adhesive-Backed Gems I added to the outer frame, and the rhinestones scattered around the background:

If, on the blog hop, you come across any broken links, head over to Sharon Davern's blog.  Sharon does a great job every week of co-ordinating our Christmas shares, and has on her blog a comprehensive list of everyone particpating in the blog hop this week.

Listed below are all the products I used to make my card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

  1. This is such a great card to showcase the new Fitting Florets dies, Christine. I love the way you cut the snowflakes out and positioned the ovals so you'd see the Poppy Parade paper through the snowflake cutouts. Great colour combo, too. The silver is an excellent choice.

  3. What a fantastic card using the new product. Love the snowflakes on the inner oval with the sentiment that is just perfect! Nothing wrong with shaking things up and doing a little bit of silver instead of gold, it looks great!

  9. Christine I think that the choice of silver with these brighter tones of red and green was a perfect one. I also love that you used the die to cut snowflakes from the central panel to let the colour shine through. The addition of the gems and the cute bow really finish your card off beautifully.
