STAMPIN' UP! GRASSY GROVE BIRTHDAY CARD #2 IN MOSSY MEADOW

When I cut a Mossy Meadow frame for yesterday's Colour Creations card, I cut a second one ... as I wasn't sure what I was going to create (and wanted a back-up in case I messed up on my first attempt, ha ha).  I was really happy with the look of the die-cut frame embossed with the Stitched Greenery Die.  So, today I am sharing a second card made with the great new Grassy Grove bundle, a little stepped-up from my first design.

After die-cutting this tree-lined frame, instead of embossing it I used a sponge dauber to add Mossy Meadow ink to the tree tops, and around the edges of the panel.  Before adhering it to the Old Olive layer, I backed it onto an inked piece of Whisper White card -  I had blended an Old Olive ink background, then stamped, in Mossy Meadow ink, the rocky and grassy hill on which the deer stand.

I added some foliage die-cut from Old Olive card, and tied a loose knot from Linen Thread (4 strands) before fraying the ends with Paper Snips.  The sentiment, from the new Sale-A-Bration Friendly Hello stamp set, was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on a piece of Crumb Cake card.  I cut out the sentiment with a Meadow Dies label, and sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink.

The three deer were all created with different paper/card.  The doe was stamped on Crumb Cake card with Soft Suede ink.  The fawn facing its mother was die-cut from Soft Suede Designer Series Paper, and the fawn reaching up for the leaves was die-cut from Crumb Cake card.  I used Soft Suede ink to sponge around the edges of each deer.   Using my Soft Suede Stampin' Write marker, I added an eye to each fawn.

On a piece of Old Olive card, I stamped a couple of trees in Mossy Meadow and Soft Suede inks.  After die-cutting them, I adhered them to the right-hand side of my card front.  The embellishments at the bottom of the frame are Old Olive Faux Sea Glass Shapes.

Because my card base is Mossy Meadow (and a little dark to write on), I added a Whisper White card panel to the inside.  I stamped, in Mossy Meadow ink, the same rocky and grassy hill that is on the front of the card.
