AWHT COLOUR CREATIONS SHOWCASE - WEEK 29: MOSSY MEADOW

Tonight is the last Colour Creations Showcase for this year; we'll be back, to continue sharing creations using Stampin' Up!'s colours, in alphabetical order, on 6th January.  As always, Cathy Proctor is co-ordinating our group share, and she has a comprehensive list on her blog of all the participants.  This week we are focussing on Mossy Meadow, a lovely dark green.

Mossy Meadow is a beautiful green to use on leaves, especially with the glorious magnolia stamp from the Good Morning Magnolia set.  I have used Jet Black StazOn ink to stamp the magnolia onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  Using Water Painters, and reinkers in Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss, Early Espresso and Crushed Curry, I watercoloured the image.  When it was dry, I flicked some water droplets onto the coloured areas.  I love the grey tones that came through on the Mossy Meadow leaves, as the ink diluted.

My card base is Thick Whisper White, the front of which has been embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder.  The main background panel is one of the beautiful patterns from Dandy Garden 6"x6" Designer Series Paper, coming in the January - June Mini Catalogue (it will be available to purchase from 5th January).  I matted the paper on a piece of Mossy Meadow card, and die-cut the bottom of both the DSP and card panels, using the decorative edge die in the Magnolia Memory die pack.

The sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on a piece of Whisper White card.  I used one of the new Stitched With Whimsy dies (coming on 5th January) to frame the word, then cut out the piece with a Stitched Rectangle die.  I do love my stitched dies!  I coloured some pearls with my Dark Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends marker, and added a bow made with Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim (also coming in the January - June 2021 Mini Catalogue).

I added a little more Mossy Meadow to the inside of the card.  The sentiment is white-embossed on Mossy Meadow card, and cut using a Stitched Rectangle die.  A tiny watercoloured leaf finishes it off:

Listed below are the current Stampin' Up! products I used to make my card.  As mentioned, a few lovely "bits" aren't available until 5th January, so I am unable to link to those in my store just yet.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

Make sure you visit Cathy's blog, to see her beautiful Mossy Meadow creation, and to get directed to everyone else's blogs.

  3. I love all the texture and layers on your stunning card Christine. The deeper shade of magnolia also works so well with the darker green. I have brushed over the 'wonky' stitched shapes in the catalogue. I really need to go back and take a closer look, as the way you have used it on your card is fabulous.

  5. First of all you had me at magnolia! I love them but then all the gorgeous detailing on your card. I really love the colour of the magnolia and would actually love one that deep in my garden and the rain drops look fantastic. I missed those whimsy stitched dies the first time through the catalogue so they are definitely going on my next order as they are fantastic! I really love your card!
