I decided last night that it is waaaaay past time that I played along with a challenge at Just Add Ink. This week it is a colour challenge, using the following colour combo:
I thought these colours would be perfect to use with my rather neglected Inspired By Nature stamp set. The Barely Banana daisies turned out really pale, which I loved. I decided there was too much 'white space' on my main panel of Very Vanilla card (the neutral I chose to use), so got out my Colour Spritzer tool and splattered Chocolate Chip all over the place. I don't mind the result, although next time I'd probably go a little less heavy-handed! I like to tell myself that handmade cards aren't meant to be 'perfect'; they have to have their little flaws. That's why it's also okay to have my sentiment not centred in the word window panel (I was planning to add a button, then changed my mind, after I'd stuck everything down), LOL.
Here's my card, followed by the list of products used:
Stamps: Sanded, Inspired by Nature, Teeny Tiny sentiments
Card: Chocolate Chip, Barely Banana, Kiwi Kiss, Very Vanilla
Ink: Kiwi Kiss stampin' pad, Barely Banana stampin' pad and marker, Chocolate Chip marker
Other: Word Window punch, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, sponge daubers, 5/16" Chocolate Chip brads, Sizzlits Lots of Tags (Label 1), Colour Spritzer tool, Walk in the Park designer series paper (retired)
This is very cute Christine. I don't think the choc chip spritzing is "heavy handed" at all. Looks just right to me. Well done. Hope you're well. Love Anita.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I think it's great choice of stamps, I love that stamp set. I don't think you are too heavy handed. I don't own a spritzer, do you use it a lot.
ReplyDeleteRach:)
I love the spritzing! Ive just bought one so this is very inspiring thanks Christine!
ReplyDeleteYou have done so well with this colour combination Christine. It looks lovely. I just bought my spritzer a couple of weeks ago. I'm still trying to master it. Well done honey x
ReplyDeletebeautiful card Christine - I don't own a spritzer - really should invest I suppose - love that stamp set too ...
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely card and it has reminded me to get out the spritzer more often!
ReplyDeleteChristine this is so beautiful. I love the spritzing. The spritzing was what 1st caught my eye, I actually thought it may have been a fleck in the paper. Themn I read your technique, and it certainly is not heavy handed. Now like others have said, I'll have to get me one of those. TFS. Cheers Donna Zammit
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely stunning! You weren't heavy handed at all - I think you've done a beautiful job. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your card Christine. I love how you used the different colours and the daisies look so delicate, just like they are blowing in a gentle breeze. I dont think that the spritzing was too much. It looks fine to me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab idea to 'spritz'! Really changes the style of the card - definitely not too heavy handed but just right! There I was thinking you'd used speckled card LOL!

ReplyDeleteI love your card Christine. The choc chip spritzing is gorgeous. Jillx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Chris! I love the spritzing!! makes the card look speckled and just right.. And never mind the label what you said is right a handmade card needs to have its little flaws, they make it individual and one of a kind. Keep up the great work, you have been an inspiration to me thank you. Nic x
ReplyDeleteThis card is just gorgeous. I love your little sentiment using the word window within the tag. It is a beautiful card. Thanks for sharing.
