JAI #118: JUST ADD ...... MAE COLLINS

This week's challenge at Just Add Ink is to choose a creation of Mae Collins, one of our Design Team members, to inspire your own.  Mae has lots of lovely cards on her blog - check them out, and show us what you have made, based on one of Mae's.

I was inspired by this card, that Mae made last year.  The border stamp, from Creative Elements, had not seen ink in my household, so I was inspired to use it in the same way that Mae did.  I've followed the same layout as Mae's card, just switching the placement of pearls, and using cardstock flags, rather than wide ribbon.  I embossed the flags with my Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, to complement the spotty background on the gorgeous paper panel.

Here is my 'take' on Mae's card:

Stamps: Creative Elements, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, Whisper White
DSP: Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, Baja Breeze Patterns Designer Series Paper
Ink: Basic Gray stampin' pad
Other: Word Window and Modern Label punches, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Itty Bitty Shapes punch, Basic Pearls, sponge dauber, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Flag dies (not SU!), Basic Gray satin ribbon, mini glue dots

Make sure you visit the Just Add Ink site, to see what the rest of the Design Team have made.  Thanks, Mae, for being an inspiration to us all!

  7. Like you I haven't used that border stamp either!! It really frames the DSP beautifully so I must just have to pull it out myself! Love all the little hints of pink too.
