JAI #345: STAMPIN' UP! CUSTOM TEE BRIGHT BIRTHDAY CARD

This week's Just Add Ink challenge is to use Narelle's sketch to come up with a card or other papercraft project.  I struggle to use circles on my cards, so seldom push myself to do it - but, when I do, I usually like the results.  Perhaps I need to get over my circle phobia!

Here's the sketch:

... and here is the bright, girly, card I made using my new Custom Tee bundle of stamps and dies:

I enjoyed this challenge, and the departure from my usual "style".

Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team's creations using this week's sketch.  We'd love for you to join us in the challenge!

I have listed below all the products used on my card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to buy the products for yourself, you can click on one of the thumbnail images below, to be taken to my online store.

STAMPIN' UP! BALLOON ADVENTURES IN PINKS

For my niece's recent 21st birthday, I wanted to make a card that was a bit feminine, but not too fussy and girly.  I found Stampin' Up!'s Playful Palette DSP the perfect choice, as it has black incorporated in the designs.

I had a bit of fun with the balloons on this card.  The stripey balloon is stamped in black ink on Blushing Bride card, the middle balloon is washi tape layered onto card, then punched out with my balloon punch, and the right-hand balloon was die-cut from Sweet Sugarplum card, then layered over a Very Vanilla punched-out balloon.  Great ways to show how Stampin' Up!'s products all work so well together.

Listed below are all the products I used to make this special milestone card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to buy these products, just click on one of the thumbnail images to go direct to my online store.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  If, like me, you have school-aged children, I hope you enjoy the last days of the Summer holidays.  When my youngest finished school for the year two months ago, I wondered how I'd manage to get through holidays that long ... now that they're coming to an end, I don't know where the time has gone!  I am not looking forward to early starts every day, and getting back into routines, but am sure that we'll settle into it, soon enough.

JAI #344: STAMPIN' UP! SWIRLY BIRD BIRTHDAY CARD

Kim has chosen this cool inspiration pic for our challenge at Just Add Ink this week:

I based the layout of my card on the colours and elements in the picture.  The top portion of my card is a piece of wavy-patterned paper from By the Shore Designer Series Paper.  I used a panel of diagonally-striped Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Paper below the blue paper.

I was inspired by the shape of the woman's hat, to use the Swirly Scribble dies, to create a little nest for a Calypso Coral bird (the reddish band on the hat looked a coral colour on my computer monitor).

Be sure to check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team's creations, inspired by the photo Kim chose.  We hope you feel inspired to share your creation with us, too ... perhaps you'll draw inspiration from the colours, or shapes, or both, in the photo.  Half the fun of these challenges is seeing how differently people interpret an inspiration piece.

I have listed below all the Stampin' Up! products used to make this card.  If you would like to buy the products for yourself, clicking on one of the thumbnail images will take you direct to my online store.
