BALLOON BASH NOTECARD AND TREAT BAG

Stampin' Up!'s Balloon Bash stamp set is such a cute, festive, birthday set.  I've teamed the fun stamped images with Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper, to create a great little card/gift.

I have to say, I am LOVING the new Mini Treat Bag thinlits.  Not only do you get the dies to create adorable little treat bags, but there are eight additional dies that can be used to decorate the bags - or use on other papercraft projects.

I've decided that if you are giving a card by hand, the Mini Treat Bag is an awesome alternative to an envelope.  It's the perfect size to hold one of Stampin' Up!'s notecards, and can be decorated to complement the card.

First, I decorated a Whisper White notecard (using paper-piecing to cover up part of the stamped sentiment that's not really something we'd say in Australia!).  I've used Balloon Bash stamps and Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper, and a couple of the Best Year Ever ribbons you can earn for free during Sale-A-Bration.

Here's the cute little treat bag I made, using the same paper, and decorated with a couple of the other dies from the Mini Treat Bag thinlits set:

Finally, check out how snugly the card fits inside the treat bag:

I hope you've enjoyed my share today, and I look forward to making lots more Mini Treat Bags to show you!

STAMPIN' UP!'S SHELTERING TREE WEDDING CARD

Last week my cousin was married in New Zealand, and I was unable to share in the special day .... it was very hard being so far away.

The wedding itself was a casual affair (second time around for both lovely people), and the invitation was rather organic - kraft, with twine and a black bicycle printed on it.  I wanted to carry on that theme in the card I made for the special couple.  Although I couldn't quite swing a tandem bike, like the invitation had, this was the closest I could get to it, using the fabulous new Sheltering Tree stamp set:

I modified the sentiment, by inking up "is a sheltering tree" (omitting the "friendship") in black ink, and stamping it on kraft card.  I then used my Good Greetings stamp set (a recent promotional set, that can't be bought), and used Real Red ink on the "hello love" stamp, just inking the word "love".  Doesn't the font go well with the Sheltering Tree font?  I was happy with my custom sentiment.

Here's the inside of the card (just so it was obvious it was a wedding card, LOL):

Listed below are all the current Stampin' Up! products I used to make this card.  It's the first card I have made using Sheltering Tree ... what a fun set to use.  The possibilities are endless!  Follow my blog for more samples coming up.

JAI #249 : BALLOONS, FOR A SKETCH CHALLENGE

Tina has created a great sketch for us at Just Add Ink this week.

I tried to think a little laterally, when it came to the seven elements (shown as hexagons) in the sketch, and settled on the use of balloons - well, because we have so many cute new ones in the Stampin' Up! range.

My colour choices were dictated by the gorgeous spotty paper from the new Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper pack.  Rose Red is a colour that I don't give enough love to!  I've teamed it it with black and white, with accents of silver.

I inked up a couple of different balloon stamps from Balloon Bash, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Whisper White card.  I cut out the balloons, and adhered them to a piece of Whisper White card that I'd embossed with the Lucky Stars embossing folder (I thought that'd be cute next to the balloons with stars on).  Seven of these black balloons fit nicely on my card - but, as you can see, once I added my rather sizeable sentiment balloon (from Celebrate Today), I covered a couple of them up!  You'll just have to take my word for it, that they're there. :)

The rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team have come up with totally gorgeous creations using this sketch - be sure to check them out here.  We would love you to play along with us, too - show us how you've used the sketch on a papercraft project!

All of the Stampin' Up! products used to make this card are listed below; if you click on any of the images, you'll be taken direct to my online store, where you can purchase them. (NB: The Frosted Sequins are no longer available - sorry!)
