Tonight, for the last Colour Creations blog hop of 2024, we're sharing creations that show off Melon Mambo. I don't typically use this dark, bold pink much, but that will likely change, as Stampin' Up! now has lots of Designer Series Papers incorporating this colour.
CARD #1:
I have two cards to share with you. Firstly, I decided to recreate the card I made for the Highland Heather blog hop, by just switching the colour to Melon Mambo, and blinging it up a bit.
The background is Melon Mambo Designer Series Paper, from the Brights 6"x6" DSP pack, adhered to a Thick Basic White card. I cut two frames using a Lifetime of Love Die - one from Thick Basic White card, and one from Silver Foil sheet. I coloured the leafy detail on the Thick Basic White frame, using my Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends marker, and snipped the leaves from the frame. I glued the Granny Apple Green "leafy bits" onto the Silver Foil frame once everything was in place.
The sentiment was stamped in Melon Mambo ink. When stamped a few times, it looks quite raspberry red, don't you think?
I die-cut the flowers, using Simply Zinnia Dies, from Basic White card and Melon Mambo card. Using a Blending Brush, I added Melon Mambo ink to the white flowers. The flower centres were cut from Naturally Gilded Specialty DSP. I wanted them to have silver detail, but with white to help lighten the look a little.
The bow is made from Silver & White Sheer Ribbon, and attached with Mini Glue Dots. I added some Melon Mambo Glossy Dots to the sentiment panel, and a couple of Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments to the background.
Here's another close-up, in which you can see the flower centres (but not really the shine!) a bit better:
CARD #2:
I love to use Designer Series Papers on my cards. My second card gives you a sneak-peek at a few new products, including the Toadstool Gardens 6"x6" DSP pack, that will be available in a few weeks. This gorgeous, happy, paper pack is a freebie on offer during Sale-A-Bration (from 7th January to 28th February 2025), if you spend $100 on Stampin' Up! product.
In this close-up, you can see that I've incorporated FOUR designs of Toadstool Gardens DSP on my card. I am also thrilled that we will have a lovely new white ribbon with the release (also on 7th January) of Stampin' Up!'s next Mini Catalogue. This bow is made from White Woven Ribbon, and attached with Mini Glue Dots.
I used my Dark Melon Mambo Stampin' Blends marker to colour a few Brushed Brass Butterflies. It's difficult to capture the colour in photographs, but I assure you they look much prettier in real life!
The sentiment, from the So Sincere stamp set, was stamped in Melon Mambo ink on Basic White card. I cut it out using a Delicate Forest Die. The Melon Mambo embellishments beneath the sentiment label are from the beautiful Sunny Day Iridescent Dots pack, coming out in the new Mini Catalogue.
If the link is broken, or if you'd like to see a full list of participants in this week's blog hop, head over to Catherine Proctor's blog. Cathy does a wonderful job of co-ordinating our Colour Creations blog hops, year-round.
I have listed below all the current Stampin' Up! products used to make my cards. If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below. (The products coming out next month aren't yet available to purchase, unless you're a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, so I can't yet link to those.)
We're taking a break from the blog hops, over Christmas/New Year, and will be back on 8th January to continue working our way through Stampin' Up!'s colours, alphabetically. Next up will be Misty Moonlight.
