This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Garden Green. This mid-green in Stampin' Up!'s range has long been a nemesis of mine. I love greens, but this one has been an exception! I've recently warmed to it, and rather like its inclusion in a lot of Stampin' Up!'s Christmas products. So, I present to you, a Garden Green-heavy Christmas card!
The Reindeer Memories Scrapbooking Workshop Kit contains lots of great products for card-making, as well as scrapbooking. I have used Garden Green Two-Toned Cardstock, Designer Series Paper (the polka-dot Real Red piece) and stickers (the reindeer, and the reindeer border pieces), that go beautifully with other products I already had.
The two circles, on which the reindeer is mounted, were cut with Spotlight on Nature Dies. The Garden Green panel that is embossed with the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder, is the two-toned cardstock. It has a white core (unlike Stampin' Up!'s other cardstock), which is revealed in patches where I used a sanding block over the raised surface.
The Garden Green embellishments are Transparent Adhesive-Backed Dots.
I created the sentiment with the fabulous Peaceful Season bundle.
After adhering the border sticker to the bottom of the Garden Green embossed panel, and matting this piece of card on a Basic White layer, I wrapped a couple of lengths of Garden Green Natural Tones Linen Thread around the card front. Using Mini Glue Dots, I adhered a bow made from the same Linen Thread.
Inside the card, I added a Basic White piece of cardstock, on which I stamped another sentiment from Peaceful Season. A second snipped piece of the reindeer border sticker was added to the bottom of the Basic White piece, to tie in with the design on the card front.
Now that I see this photo enlarged, the border's rather blurry. Sorry about that; I was down to the wire, getting this card blogged on time!

Listed below are all the products I used to make my card. If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.
Christine, I love the effect you have achieved with your sanding block! I have to agree re Garden Green being a nemesis and I really don't know why. I think it would be impossible to tell that you've struggled with this colour after seeing your beautiful Christmas card.
ReplyDeleteLove the distressing of the card stock and the adorable strip of mini reindeer both inside and out.
ReplyDeleteLove the sanding of the 2-tone cardstock, very effective. That border sticker with the little reindeer across the bottom of the card front and inside is the perfect addition!
ReplyDeleteI love that little reindeer border, so cute!
