STAMPIN' UP! HELLO BEAUTIFUL BIRTHDAY CARD FEATURING PUMPKIN PIE

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Pumpkin Pie, Stampin' Up!'s brightest orange.

I don't tend to use much orange in my card making, but I do like it as a pop of colour against neutrals.  I have made a birthday card with a masculine "bent", taking advantage of the fabulous new hexagonal dies from the Beautiful Shapes die collection.

After embossing a piece of Smoky Slate card with the Hive 3D embossing folder, I lightly applied Smoky Slate ink to the panel with a blending brush.  This layer is matted on Basic Gray card.

I have stamped, and sponged the edges of, the hexagons variously in Pumpkin Pie, Basic Gray and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  All stamped images, except the "Happy B.Day" (from Happiest of Birthdays), are from the Hello Beautiful stamp set.

Stitched Stars Dies are a great "go to" for masculine cards.  The embellishments I added to my card are Holiday Rhinestones and Adhesive-Backed Hexagons.

Here are some close-up photos, so you can better see the details:

  7. Haha love how we both chose to use the Hive folder and also blending brushes, yet in different ways. Your effect is just nice and subtle. I resisted buying the stamp set that matches these dies and only purchased the dies but now I see them in use I might have to reconsider. I love how you haven't just die cut the hexagons but also stamped them as well as it just adds another dimension. Great masculine card as always.
