STAMPIN' UP! DRAGONFLY GARDEN FRIENDSHIP CARD IN MISTY MOONLIGHT

This week's star colour, for our Colour Creations blog hop, is Misty Moonlight.  We have this beautiful blue in Stampin' Up!'s range until mid-2022; it is one of the six In Colors that will retire when the current Annual Catalogue ends.

I have used a couple of patterned papers (from the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper pack) that feature Misty Moonlight.

On the panel at the top (the paper that looks a little wallpaper-like), I splattered some ink using my Dark Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends marker, by flicking the brush tip nib against the inside of the lid.

The sentiment, from the Many Happenings stamp set, was stamped in Versamark ink on Misty Moonlight card, then heat-embossed with white embossing powder.  I used the Messages Die to cut it out.  The glimmery butterfly was cut, using a Brilliant Wings Die, from a piece of Ombre Specialty Paper.  It is described as Night of Navy, but the lighter part of the ombre pattern nicely complements Misty Moonlight.  Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems bring a bit more sparkle to an otherwise rustic-looking design.

The main stamped panel was created by stamping the flower image from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set onto Crumb Cake ink, using Misty Moonlight and Crumb Cake inkpads.  I cut out the stamped piece with a Stitched So Sweetly Die, sponged Crumb Cake ink around the scalloped edges, and mounted it on a thin mat of Misty Moonlight card.

In between the two pieces of Designer Series Paper, I added a Basic White card strip that has been embossed with the Hive 3D embossing folder - a new product, that will be out on 4th January.

A twine bow was created using Flowers For Every Season Trim.

  1. Oh wow, I love the cottage feel of this card, Christine. I adore this colour and you have used it beautifully with the different DSPs. The stamping on the crumb cake card is just lovely & framed perfectly with the scalloped dies.

  5. Christine, you have showcased Misty Moonlight so beautifully. Teaming it with my favourite neutral of Crumb Cake was a great idea - I just love the combination.
