STAMPIN' UP! REINDEER MEMORIES CHRISTMAS CARD IN GARDEN GREEN

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Garden Green.  This mid-green in Stampin' Up!'s range has long been a nemesis of mine.  I love greens, but this one has been an exception!  I've recently warmed to it, and rather like its inclusion in a lot of Stampin' Up!'s Christmas products.  So, I present to you, a Garden Green-heavy Christmas card!

The Reindeer Memories Scrapbooking Workshop Kit contains lots of great products for card-making, as well as scrapbooking.  I have used Garden Green Two-Toned Cardstock, Designer Series Paper (the polka-dot Real Red piece) and stickers (the reindeer, and the reindeer border pieces), that go beautifully with other products I already had.

The two circles, on which the reindeer is mounted, were cut with Spotlight on Nature Dies.  The Garden Green panel that is embossed with the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder, is the two-toned cardstock.  It has a white core (unlike Stampin' Up!'s other cardstock), which is revealed in patches where I used a sanding block over the raised surface.

The Garden Green embellishments are Transparent Adhesive-Backed Dots.

I created the sentiment with the fabulous Peaceful Season bundle.

After adhering the border sticker to the bottom of the Garden Green embossed panel, and matting this piece of card on a Basic White layer,  I wrapped a couple of lengths of Garden Green Natural Tones Linen Thread around the card front.  Using Mini Glue Dots, I adhered a bow made from the same Linen Thread.

Inside the card, I added a Basic White piece of cardstock, on which I stamped another sentiment from Peaceful Season.  A second snipped piece of the reindeer border sticker was added to the bottom of the Basic White piece, to tie in with the design on the card front.

Now that I see this photo enlarged, the border's rather blurry.  Sorry about that; I was down to the wire,  getting this card blogged on time!

HOC WEEK 12: STAMPIN' UP! GREETINGS OF THE SEASON CHRISTMAS CARDS

I've been away for a few weeks, having an incredible time in Spain and Portugal, and must admit to finding it VERY hard to get enthusiastic about my "real" life again!  However, things must return to normal, so I'm back to share a couple of Christmas cards, for this week's Heart of Christmas blog hop.  A group of us, all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia, share Christmas creations every Monday night until the end of November, to give you ideas for using Stampin' Up! products in your own Christmas crafting.

The two cards I am sharing this week were made with the Greetings of the Season bundle, which is comprised of a stamp set of beautiful greetings, along with a range of tag dies.  The Season of Green & Gold Designer Series Papers, Graceful Greenery Vellum, and Golden Greenery Dies, all go beautifully with the bundle.  I've used the same basic layout for my two cards, achieving slightly different looks by mixing up the elements.

CARD #1:

To a Very Vanilla card base, I adhered a layer of leafy DSP with lovely gold accents in the leaves.  I cut a Very Vanilla large tag, and added a small piece of gold and vanilla DSP to the bottom portion. (This piece had been cut with the same tag die, to allow the pierced border to be lined up on both layers.)  A thin strip of Gold Glimmer Paper was added to the join.

I used Golden Greenery Dies to cut some foliage from Gold Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper (this was an Online Exclusive product, but is unfortunately no longer available).  Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon was used for my bow, that I attached with Glue Dots.

Here's a clearer view of the beautiful gold-embossed sentiment.  The bells were die-cut from the Season of Green & Gold DSP, using co-ordinating Golden Greenery Dies.  I fussy-cut the bow from the DSP, and glued both pieces to the tag.

CARD #2:

I have again used a Very Vanilla card base, but this time added a Mossy Meadow card layer between the card base and the Designer Series Papers.  The two panels of DSP were sponged (around the edges) with Mossy Meadow ink, before being adhered to the card mat.

The foliage cluster is a mix of Season of Green & Gold DSP, Graceful Greenery Vellum, and Gold Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper, all cut with Golden Greenery Dies.  I used Old Olive ink, and a Blending Brush, to colour one of the sprigs of foliage cut from vellum.

The bow is Cream Woven Ribbon, coloured with Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends (I first tried the Light tone, then coloured over it with the Dark).

Here's a close-up of the lovely gold-embossed sentiment.  For this card, I also cut the tag from Very Vanilla card, and added a piece of DSP that I'd cut using the bottom portion of the tag die.

Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems were my embellishment of choice for this card.
