HOC WEEK 3: STAMPIN' UP! CHRISTMAS CLASSICS CARD IN CLASSIC CHRISTMAS COLOURS

Welcome to Week 3 of the Heart of Christmas blog hops, in which a group of us (all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia) share ideas for using Stampin' Up! products on your Christmas projects.

The card I have made features the beautiful Christmas Classics bundle that is in the Mini Catalogue going live on 6th September.  I have used Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce, Distressed Gold and Basic White to enhance the "classic" Christmas look!

I started off by die-cutting the main piece from Basic White card.  I used Stampin' Blends markers to colour the foliage and berries.  The holly leaves are Dark Shaded Spruce, and the other leaves Light Shaded Spruce.  The berries were coloured using Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends.

After cutting a second piece from Cherry Cobbler card, I trimmed off all the foliage, and laid the sentiment "mat" part across the other die-cut.  I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink on Basic White card, and adhered that on top.

I die-cut some large holly leaves from Shaded Spruce card, and Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, and added them to the main die-cut piece.  There are a couple of Distressed Gold twiggy bits, that are actually the pieces from the centre of the two large gold leaves.

A few berries were stamped (in Cherry Cobbler ink) and die cut, and added to the sentiment.

Here's a closer look at a few details, including the embossed background, the gorgeous Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper and Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, Festive Pearls, and the large holly leaves:

STAMPIN' UP! WINTER MEADOW MASCULINE BIRTHDAY CARD

Today I am sharing the second card I made with some of the gorgeous papers from the new Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper pack (out on 6th September).

I cut some of the deer-patterned paper with a Deckled Rectangles Die, and mounted it on a Basic Black Deckled Rectangles die-cut.  This just looks like an art piece on its own, don't you think?  All I added to it was a stamped sentiment, and some gems.

The background layers are a piece of Thick Basic White card, with some Lost Lagoon DSP (also from the Winter Meadow pack) adhered to the bottom half.  I embossed this panel with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder.

The ribbon I've used on this card is a new one, also coming out in the Mini Catalogue on 6th September.  It is Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon, which I've coloured with the Dark Lost Lagoon Stampin' Blends marker.  Because the colour came out quite a bit greener than the Lost Lagoon paper, I decided to stamp the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink.

My card base is Smoky Slate, so I added a Basic White insert inside.  Just because I love the paper so much, I included another piece inside!

Listed below are the current products I used to make this card.  I can't yet link to the new products in my online store, as they aren't available to purchase until 6th September (unless you sign up beforehand, to become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator).  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

STAMPIN' UP! WINTER MEADOW/GROVE DIES BIRTHDAY CARD

It is a bitterly cold day in Melbourne today ... perfect for time spent in the craft room, with the heating on!  I have made a couple of cards with the gorgeous new Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper, that will be available to purchase from 6th September.  As soon as I saw the dreamy greyscale paper with deer in the design, I knew I wanted to pair it with Stampin' Up!'s Grove Dies, to make masculine cards.

This is part of the sheet of paper I cut down:

... and this is what I created with it:

I started off by die-cutting the frame from Thick Basic White card.  I opened up the aperture in the frame, by using Paper Snips to trim off some of the foliage.  This allowed more of the DSP to show through from behind.  Using a Blending Brush, I applied Smoky Slate ink to the frame, then darkened the edges with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (also using a Blending Brush).

After cutting a strip of Basic Black card, I ran it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, with the Grove Die used to make my frame - but positioned it so the leafy bottom edge was the only edge cutting the black card.  Because of the width of my Basic Black piece, I had to cut it across twice (and creatively trim a little with Paper Snips afterwards!).

The Lost Lagoon panel that you can see peeks of was embossed with the Fern 3D embossing folder.  I sponged the edges with Lost Lagoon ink before adhering it to the Thick Basic White card base.

The sentiment was created using the Something Fancy bundle of stamps and dies.  It was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White card.

I die-cut some foliage, using the Grove Dies and cardstock in Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock.  Before gluing them down, I tucked these pieces into the die-cut holes in the frame.  A few Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots were added as a finishing touch.

I can't yet link to the new products in my online store, but I have listed below all the current products I used to make this card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

I'd love it if you come back to visit tomorrow, to see the second card I made with this beautiful paper.
