STAMPIN' UP! HAND-PENNED GET WELL CARD IN HIGHLAND HEATHER

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Highland Heather.  Whilst I'm really not a lover of purple, I do like this soft, pretty, purple (and Stampin' Up!'s embellishments that are colour co-ordinated).

The only stamping on my card is the sentiment.  I've let the gorgeous Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper take centre stage.  Both the main floral panel, and the two vertical strips at the side of it, are from this paper pack.

The "reeds" at the left of the card were cut using Harvest Dies, and Highland Heather card.  I used a Blending Brush to add a little Highland Heather ink to the tops of the stems.

The sentiment, from Inspired Thoughts, was stamped in Highland Heather ink on Basic White card, and cropped with the Messages Die.  I used my Stamparatus, to repeat the stamping of the sentiment, so it was bolder than with just one impression.  The sentiment label is mounted on a slightly smaller piece of Highland Heather card.  I couldn't help but use some gorgeous Pastel Pearls on my card.

I adhered a scalloped border die-cut in Basic White card (cut using a Penned Flowers Die) to the bottom of my card front.  Once I had stuck down the border, and the die-cut stems, I wrapped a length of Highland Heather shimmery grosgrain ribbon around the panel.  I added a bow made from the same ribbon, to finish off my card.

STAMPIN' UP! HEART OF CHRISTMAS - WEEK 17

For this week's Heart of Christmas blog hop, I have made a couple of cards featuring the beautiful Delicate Baubles Dies.  I have kept the cards simple, the idea being that they would be easy to make multiples of, if you were so inclined (I personally am hopeless at this efficient method of card-making!).

My first card shows off a couple of designs from the Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper pack.

I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink on a scrap of Basic White card, cropped it using the Messages Die, and popped it up on Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, to sit on top of the bauble "string".  The Cherry Cobbler border, between the two different patterned papers, was cut using a Basic Borders Die.

The intricate snowflake bauble overlay was cut from Basic White Card, and adhered to a solid Pool Party bauble die-cut.  Some Cherry Cobbler Matte Decorative Dots finish off the card.

My second card has a very different look, in an elegant gold and white colour scheme.

I cut both the solid bauble base, and the intricately-detailed overlay, from Gold Metallic Paper.  I haven't quite captured the beautiful shimmer in my photos, but here you can see the lovely detail.  The gold and white striped paper is from the Expressions in Ink DSP pack, and Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots were my embellishment of choice.

Doesn't the Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder produce a gorgeous white background?

Next up on tonight's blog hop is Ros Davidson.  If you click on the button below, you will be taken to her blog.
