STAMPIN' UP! WORDS OF CHEER CHRISTMAS CARD IN GREENS

After making my card for last night's Heart of Christmas blog hop, I came up with a second card using the same layout, and the Words of Cheer bundle.  I have mixed up the colours a little, and added a couple of different details.

The paper used for my background is from the Tidings Of Christmas Designer Series Paper pack.  Instead of adding holly leaves and berries to my card, I have used Metallic Pearls.  I used the same masking technique, placing washi tape over a word on my sentiment stamp, to customise the stamped sentiment.  This time it's stamped in Evening Evergreen ink.  After stamping the sentiment, and before adhering the the die cut portion of the sentiment (and the die cut trees), I embossed the Ornate Layers die cut rectangle with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

The gold bow was created with Fine Art ribbon.

Don't these skinny die cut trees complement the background paper well?  They're from the new Christmas Trees Die set, which will also be released on 3rd August.  I cut one tree from Evening Evergreen card, and the other from Soft Succulent card, to complement the colours in the die-cut sentiment.

I added a couple more little die cut trees to the inside of the card:

The stamps and dies used on the focal panel of my card are not yet available for purchase from my online store (they'll be out on 3rd August), but I have listed below the current products used on my card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

STAMPIN' UP! HEART OF CHRISTMAS - WEEK 4

Monday night means it's time for some of my Stampin' Up! friends and me to share Christmas projects made using Stampin' Up! products.

Tonight I am showcasing a new product bundle that will be released on 3rd August.  It's called the Words of Cheer bundle, and I just love the layering options for the die-cut words, especially.

I have used my favourite Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper, that can be found in Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalogue.  The colour combination of Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen and Cherry Cobbler is already a firm favourite in my Christmas crafting repertoire this year.

I cut the "leafy" word from Soft Succulent card, then the individual letters from Evening Evergreen card.  Because these die cuts are quite delicate, it's a good idea to place some Adhesive Sheet on the back of the card you're going to cut; it makes adhering them to your card much cleaner.  After placing the word "Cheer" on my Ornate Layers rectangle, I added some die cut holly leaves and berries.  Those tiny berries are fiddly, but aren't they beautiful?

The stamped sentiment was created with a stamp that says "Sending you Christmas cheer".  I placed a strip of washi tape over the last word on the stamp, inked it up in Cherry Cobbler ink, and removed the washi tape before stamping the sentiment on the Basic White Ornate Layers rectangle.  This masking technique makes sentiment stamps so much more versatile.

A bow made from Soft Succulent Open Weave ribbon is the only embellishment I added to my card.  I just love all the delicate detail in the die-cut words, and added holly; I think it's enough!

Next up on tonight's blog hop is Rachel Woollard, who I'm sure has a gorgeous creation to share with us all.   If you click on the button below, you'll be taken to her blog.

If any links are broken, or you'd like to see a comprehensive list of all participants in this week's blog hop, you can go to Tina Gillespie's blog.  Tina is hosting this week's share.

Tomorrow I will be sharing a variation on this card, using the same pack of paper, but in a slightly different colourway.  I hope you will come back tomorrow to see my next Words of Cheer card.

Listed below are all the current products used on my card.  I can't yet link to Words of Cheer in my online store, as the stamps and dies don't become available until 3rd August.  Not long to wait now!

STAMPIN' UP! PEONY SYMPATHY CARD FOR #TTTC123

This week's Tic Tac Toe Challenge really appeals to me ... peonies are my favourite flowers.  I chose to work with the top horizontal line:

I find orange a little hard to incorporate into my card designs, but by opting for softer tones I really love the look.  Here's the card I came up with:

I stamped three peonies in Basic Gray ink on Basic White card.  To colour them, I used Stampin' Blends markers, in Pale Papaya (light and dark) and Pumpkin Pie (light and dark).  The flower centres were subtly coloured in both oranges, and Smoky Slate.  I also stamped the leaves in Basic Gray ink, then coloured them with Old Olive Stampin' Blends.

To create the vase/pot in which the flowers sit, I die-cut a piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, using a Seasonal Labels Die (from the Mini Catalogue being released on 3rd August).  I trimmed the label down to the size I wanted, then stamped the surface in Smoky Slate ink, using the Stacked Stone stamp.  After stamping it once, I rotated the paper 90 degrees, and stamped the image again, to give a more textured look.  I used Smoky Slate ink to sponge around the edges of the die cut.

The background papers are two patterns from the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper pack (also coming out 3rd August).

The sentiment, stamped in Smoky Slate ink, is from the Many Happenings stamp set.  It is die cut using the co-ordinating Messages Die, then trimmed at the left-hand edge, to allow placement against the edge of the paper.  I added some Artistry Blooms Sequins to finish off my card.

Listed below are all the current Stampin' Up! products I used to make my card.  The beautiful papers and label die (used for the vase) will be available from 3rd August.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.
