AWHT COLOUR CREATIONS SHOWCASE - WEEK 45: SEASIDE SPRAY

This week's Colour Creations Showcase is all about Seaside Spray, a beautiful soft blue that is one of the In Colors retiring from Stampin' Up!'s range in early May.  I will miss this gorgeous colour!  Cathy Proctor co-ordinates our showcases each week.  She has a list on her blog of all participants in this week's share.  We hope you'll hop around all of our blogs, to see how we've incorporated Seaside Spray into our creations.

The focal point of my card this week is one of the Dandy Laser Cut Paper panels - a frame with laser-cut dragonflies inside.  I used Blending Brushes with Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight inkpads, to colour the white frame.  The beautifully soft bristles on our Blending Brushes make it easy to colour delicate elements like this, without ripping or warping the paper.

I used the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder to add texture to the Seaside Spray panel, onto which I adhered the laser-cut piece that is matted on Basic White card and Silver Foil sheet.  Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon, and some Metallic Pearls added to the small silver punched-out dragonflies, adds a finishing touch to my design.

I stamped the sentiment, from the Path of Petals stamp set, using Misty Moonlight ink on a piece of Basic White card.  After cutting it out with an Ornate Frames Die, I sponged Seaside Spray ink around the label edges, and added a few Metallic Pearls.  The bluish tone of the silver pearls works well with the colours used on my card.

Listed below are all the products I used to make this card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

Make sure you go to Cathy's blog, to see her lovely work, and to find the links to the blogs of everyone else participating in this week's Colour Creations Showcase.

Tomorrow I will share with you a second Seaside Spray card, that came about as a result of using Blending Brushes on this card.  I hope you'll come back to visit.

STAMPIN' UP! WRAPPED BOUQUET MOTHER'S DAY CARD FOR #IB170

The current Inspired By Challenge prompted me to create a Mother's Day card.  For this challenge, we can be inspired by either the photo, the sketch, or both.  I've opted to combine the two.

and

My mind immediately went to Stampin' Up!'s Wrapped Bouquet bundle.  I stamped one of the bunches of flowers in Versamark ink, on Basic White card, and heat-embossed the image with white embossing powder.  I coloured the foliage with Old Olive Stampin' Blends markers, and the flowers with Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends markers.  The "paper" in which my flowers are wrapped is a piece of Crumb Cake card, stamped with the text-type image (on both sides), die cut and sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  The black twine wrapped around it started off as white baker's twine, from the Snail Mail Twine Combo.  I used my Dark Basic Black Stampin' Blends marker to customise it.

Here's a close-up of the flowers, which I've mounted on a Basic White scalloped circle, that has been embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder:

The Basic White background on my card has been embossed with the Scripty 3D embossing folder.  I used my Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends marker to splatter a bit of colour over the embossed text.

The Old Olive Designer Series Paper piece is matted on a layer of Old Olive card, and raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on a scrap of Basic White card, and flicked some colour from my Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends marker over the top.  This small label has been matted on a slightly larger Calypso Coral die-cut piece, that I stamped the text-type image on in Calypso Coral ink before sponging the edges in Calypso Coral ink.  The sentiment has been popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals, to the same height as the dotty Old Olive panel.
