I am very excited to once again be part of the weekly Heart of Christmas blog hops, with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators in the Art With Heart team in Australia. We will be showcasing Stampin' Up! products, and ways to use them on Christmas projects, for the next several months. Here's my first share for 2023:
I do love a checked background! Mine was created by stamping, in Real Red ink, Sketched Plaid onto a piece of Real Red paper from the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP pack. This paper has a subtle "snow-flecked" look - a lovely detail for my background. I sponged Real Red ink around this paper layer, then added a couple of other patterned papers from the same pack. The beautiful One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Papers are an Online Exclusive product. I used Crumb Cake ink to sponge the edges of the two smaller pieces of paper that form the background to my wreath.
Using the Country Wreaths Dies, I cut two wreaths - one from Crumb Cake card, and one from Basic White card. I love the design of these wreaths, in that they fit together beautifully. I stamped Real Red berries, from the Cottage Wreaths stamp set, on Basic White card and cut them out using the co-ordinating Country Wreaths Dies.
My wreath hangs from Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo ribbons. I like the contrast between the rustic look of my card (mostly provided by the Crumb Cake elements), and the Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems.
The sentiment is from the Brightest Glow stamp set. I stamped it in Versamark ink on Crumb Cake card, and heat-embossed it in white. A Labels Aglow Die was used to crop it, and customise the length (ie, after die-cutting the label, I moved the die-cut piece along the length of the die and cut again, to crop it to the size I wanted).
While I was deciding the colour order of my wreaths (whether to put white on the bottom, and Crumb Cake on the top, or vice versa), I cut some extras. I added one to the inside of my card, offset over the edge, and trimmed down:
