STAMPIN' UP! CELEBRATE WITH TAGS BIRTHDAY CARD IN CHERRY COBBLER

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Cherry Cobbler, Stampin' Up!'s dark red.  Although I was tempted to add to my Christmas card stash, I decided to stay in my comfort zone of a card with a masculine "bent".  I have teamed Cherry Cobbler with a couple of greys, and black and white, and created this card featuring the Celebrate With Tags bundle:

I stamped a few balloons in Cherry Cobbler ink, colouring direct to the rubber for the strings - using my Basic Black and Basic Gray Stampin' Write Markers.  One balloon was inked in Smoky Slate, and one in Basic Gray, ink (using my Basic Black marker for the strings before stamping).

The Smoky Slate card layer (matted onto Basic Black) has been stamped, using Smoky Slate ink and a stamp from Celebrate With Tags.  I sponged around the edges of this panel with Smoky Slate ink.

After cutting a Deckled Rectangle piece of Cherry Cobbler card, I embossed it using a Let's Celebrate embossing folder.  One of my favourite parts of this card is that the stamped sentiment (from Artistically Inked) is in the same font as the embossed words (at the top of the Cherry Cobbler panel).  It's not just colour co-ordination that Stampin' Up! excels at!

I added a Basic Black twine bow to the balloon strings, and a few Matte Black Dots to the Basic Gray DSP panel (also cut with a Deckled Rectangle Die).

After stamping the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink on Basic White card, I cut it out using my new favourite Labels Aglow Die.  From Basic Black card, I die-cut three more of the labels, and stacked them with the Basic White one on top, to give a little dimension without bulk.

I added a few more die-cut candles to the inside of the card.  Please forgive the poor photography ... I couldn't get the card to stay open as I would normally photograph it.

HEART OF CHRISTMAS WEEK 4: STAMPIN' UP! SPRUCED UP WHIMSICAL WOODLAND CARD

Tonight some of my Stampin' Up! friends and I are sharing Christmas projects with you.  Every Monday night until late November we will inspire you to use Stampin' Up! products on your Christmas cards and other projects.

The colours from Santa Express Designer Series Paper were the starting point of my card.  I embossed a piece of Mint Macaron card, using the Whimsical Woodland 3D embossing folder, before rubbing Whisper White ink over the surface using a sponge dauber.  This embossed piece is matted on a slightly larger Mint Macaron panel.

I used a small piece of the "Ho Ho Ho" paper to decorate the front of my card.  I cut it into three strips, and adhered it to the embossed card front:

Two die-cut tree outlines were laid over some of the embossed trees.  I added gorgeous Iridescent Rhinestones to give the look of baubles:

Around the front of the card, I wrapped a length of Petal Pink ribbon.  A bow from the same ribbon was added next to the sentiment.  The sentiment, stamped in Mint Macaron ink, is from the Spruced Up bundle.  It was cut out using a Harvest Die, and attached using glue dots.
