STAMPIN' UP! BABY CARD IN BALMY BLUE

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Balmy Blue.  I know it's more fashionable at the moment for baby clothes and cards to be in more gender-neutral tones, but I like this soft blue for a baby card.

My favourite waving bear, from the Happier Than Happy bundle, features on my card - because he's cute!  I stamped the bear in Soft Suede ink on Basic White card, then cut him out using the co-ordinating die.  Using a Stylish Shapes Die, I cut a circle from a piece of Happy Forest Friends DSP, and mounted it on a Thick Basic White die-cut circle for stability.

On a panel of Sahara Sand card, I adhered a different piece of Happy Forest Friends DSP, and a piece of Balmy Blue DSP (from the 6"x6" Subtles Collection).  I laid a length of Natural Finish Ribbon across the join of the papers, and tied a Linen Thread knot around it.  The circles are raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

Using my Dark Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends marker, I coloured some Basic Pearls to tie in with the colour scheme.

Tying in with the forest theme, I have used a couple of acorns, die-cut from Sahara Sand card, as a sweet embellishment on the DSP flag created with an All That Die.

Here's a close-up of the sentiment, that I stamped in Soft Suede ink on Basic White card, before die-cutting with a Stylish Shapes Die:

  6. Such a cute baby boy card. I know you said the trend is for gender neutral but I still like blue and pink as well. As always it's all of the little elements that you add toyour cards to make them so special, like the little acorns. The choice of papers compliments the cute bear perfectly. Just too cute!
