My first session spent back in my craft room, was to make a birthday card for a young man who really appreciates the cards I make him every year. My creation was inspired by Emma Goddard, a UK Stampin' Up! demonstrator, who made this great card. I wouldn't have thought to use Pretty Peacock with Seaside Notions (I tend towards lighter or brighter blues). I teamed Pretty Peacock with Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Whisper White, to make this card:
To create the centre panel, I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Using Crumb Cake ink, and Pretty Peacock ink, I repeatedly stamped a squiggly line image from Artisan Textures, from the bottom of the piece of card, upwards (leaving the top of the card uncoloured). I then brayered Crumb Cake ink over the bottom third of the card, and Pretty Peacock ink to the higher parts of the card, keeping the colour more intense in what would be the deeper part of the sea. After this, I stamped the dotty image from Seaside Notions, along the sandy area, and some of the sea.
The seahorse and shells were stamped onto Whisper White card, and coloured using co-ordinating Stampin' Blends (alcohol markers). A little bit of Linen Thread, knotted at both ends, is a finishing touch underneath the sentiment panel.
If you would like to buy any of the products I have used to make this card, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below. If you live in Australia, and don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love for you to shop with me.
