JAI #340: JUST ADD GIFT TAGS ... WITH SOME STAMPIN' UP! SNEAK PEEKS!

For this week's Just Add Ink challenge, Jan has challenged us to:

I have received my pre-order of new products from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration brochure (going live 4th January 2017).  I couldn't resist using some of the gorgeous goodies on my gift tags.

I cut one Wisteria Wonder tag, and one from Smoky Slate cardstock.  I stamped the foliage, from the new That's The Tag stamp set, on the Wisteria Wonder tag, and cut the sweet trail of butterflies using Timeless Tags Thinlits (also new).  I then layered the two tags together, so the Smoky Slate card shows behind some butterflies.  After cutting more butterflies from Whisper White cardstock, I pieced a few back into the negative spaces, and painted them with my clear Wink of Stella glimmer brush.  The little flower and leaves were stamped using That's the Tag, coloured using Wisteria Wonder, Wild Wasabi and So Saffron markers, and die cut using Timeless Tags Thinlits.  The sentiment is from the new stamp set also.  Do you love that silvery ribbon?  It's one of the free items we can earn during Sale-A-Bration (running through January, February and March), and is part of a Metallic Ribbon combo - one roll has silver threads through it, and the other gold.  Love it!

Here's a slightly closer view of the butterflies (can you see the shimmer on the white ones?):

... and here is a shot I took of the two tags I made, only minutes before I spilled a glass of water on them, ruining them!!

I have listed below the current Stampin' Up! products used to make these tags.  You'll have to wait another month (almost) before you can get your hands on the stamp set, dies and ribbon, though!

Make sure you check out the gorgeous gift tags made by the rest of the Just Add Ink team this week.

  1. Oh Christine how tragic that you spilled water all over these gorgeous little tags! Loved your idea of layering the two colours of card stock together too. Such a great way to add subtle colour and depth. xxx
