JAI #277: STAMPIN' UP! KINDA ECLECTIC

Kim has come up with a beautiful colour challenge for us, at Just Add Ink:

I was a little bit concerned about the "So Saffron" element, as it is one of my least-used colours.  However, once I decided to use my very neglected Kinda Eclectic stamp set, the colours went together just beautifully.  I've used Crumb Cake for my card base and sentiment, and to sponge around the edges of each piece of paper on my card.

I love how this card turned out!  I hope you do, too.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Be sure to check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team's cards using this gorgeous colour combination.

Listed below are all the Stampin' Up! products I used to make this card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to buy them for yourself, just click on one of the thumbnail images to be taken direct to my online store.

JAI #276: JUST ADD CARDS FOR MALES

This week's Just Add Ink challenge, suggested by Jan, is to create a card for a male.

I'm sharing with you today a card I made for my husband's nephew last month.  The birthday boy, who turned 17 (am I stating the obvious?) is a soccer fan.  I created a soccer ball embellishment by running some Whisper White card through my Big Shot, with the Hexagon Hive die.  I adhered the cut-out hexagons to a piece of Basic Black card, then used a 2" Circle punch to make the ball.

My original intention with this card was to have an ombre look, with the triangles stamped in black, Basic Gray and Smoky Slate.  My Basic Gray inkpad didn't stamp nicely, so I've covered up that middle section with some washi tape stuck on Whisper White card.  It adds just the right amount of colour I wanted, so it worked out for the best in the end! (The black and white washi tape is now retired, but the Tangelo Twist spotty washi tape is current.)

Don't you just love the size of the sentiment?  This was my first time using the Happy Birthday, Everyone stamp set, and I am in love!  The set can only be earned for free, with Stampin' Rewards with a qualifying order.  All other current products I have used are listed below, and may be purchased from my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team's card samples, to give you inspiration for making masculine cards.  We'd love for you to link up your own creation on the Just Add Ink blog, too!

JAI #275: STAMPIN' UP! TIMELESS ELEGANCE BUTTERFLY BIRTHDAY CARD

Kim has a great sketch for us at Just Add Ink this week.

It wasn't until I had finished my card that I realised just how many butterfly cards I've been sharing lately!  I hope you haven't tired of them.  Stampin' Up! has so many great butterfly options, I just can't help myself.

I wanted to make a fairly simple, but elegant, card for a friend's milestone birthday.  Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper provided the perfect background.  Don't you just love this lacy print?

The stitched circle die cut is using now-retired Brushed Gold cardstock (and a non-SU! die).  All other products are current, and are listed below.  If you live in Australia, and would like to order the products from me, you can click on any of the thumbnail images to be directed to my online store.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's creations.  We hope to inspire you to play along with this sketch challenge.
