I have chosen to use dry-embossing - a quick, clean, way of adding texture and interest to a card. I dug out my rather neglected Mosaic embossing folder, and started off embossing a piece of card that I'd stamped with a clear block (with the same colours as I used on this card). I then embossed a larger piece of Whisper White card, turned it over, and lined up the embossed pattern on the focal piece, with the debossed pattern on the larger piece. I was quite happy with myself, for managing to make that work!
My card today is a simple one; I wanted the focus to be on the colours, and the embossing.
There are lots of ways to add texture to a card or scrapbook page, and you can get some more ideas from the Just Add Ink Design Team samples.
All of the Stampin' Up! products I used, to make this card, are shown below. If you click on any of the images, you'll be taken directly to my online store.
This is so sweet, I love the color combination you chose. The texture from the embossing folder really makes this card. Love it, Christine!
ReplyDeleteOh I like you idea of mixing and matching the emboss/deboss patterns Christine - its a great effect and its appears quite seamless! xxx
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea using your folder in the positive and negative on the same card, and I like the soft colours and the flower stands out very nicely.
ReplyDeleteNifty idea to emboss and deboss - I've never tried it but will be sure to now. Love the subtle colours the clear block stamping has given too - such a pretty card. xox
ReplyDeleteThat embossed texture is just lovely! Really pretty card!
