STAMPIN' UP! HAPPY FOREST FRIENDS BIRTHDAY CARD IN CALYPSO CORAL

 

The colour we're creating with, for this week's Colour Creations blog hop, is Calypso Coral.

A friend asked me to make a selection of cards using woodland creatures.  This is one of the cards I made her, using Calypso Coral and Sahara Sand, and Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper.  

The bear, fox and bird were all fussy-cut from a piece of the DSP.  I cut a Basic White circle, using a Beautiful Shapes Die.  Using my Stamparatus, and Stampin' Write Markers in Calypso Coral and Sahara Sand, I stamped hearts from the Celebrate With Tags stamp set.

I layered the circle on a Calypso Coral scalloped circle, cut using Layering Circles Dies.  Iridescent Rhinestones, coloured with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends marker, were added to my card in a couple of places.

This close-up shows the lovely texture and softness of the Sahara Sand Twill Ribbon.

After stamping the sentiment, from Artistically Inked, in Calypso Coral ink on Basic White card, I cut it out using a Labels Aglow Die.

HEART OF CHRISTMAS WEEK 3: MERRIEST MOMENTS POINSETTIA CARD

 

The card I'm sharing for this week's Heart of Christmas blog hop was designed to show off the gorgeous Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper.  I decided Merriest Moments paired nicely with the ponsettia design, and this is what I came up with:

Isn't that patterned paper beautiful?  My go-to neutral, for using with rich colours like Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow, is Very Vanilla - but I decided to use crisp Basic White on my card this week.  On a piece of Basic White card, I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink (it came out nicely on my card, but has "blown out" a bit in the photo).  I used the stitched rectangle die from Merriest Frames Dies, to crop the sentiment.  This piece was matted on Gold Metallic Specialty Paper.

Three poinsettias (two smaller, and one large) were stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink, and die cut.  The leaves and flower centres were stamped in Mossy Meadow ink before being cut with co-ordinating dies.  From Cherry Cobbler cardstock, I die cut some tiny poinsettias - two of each size were layered together, and added to the background paper.  

I added Gold Adhesive-Backed Pearls to all the flower centres.  Here are some closer shots:

STAMPIN' UP! 60th BIRTHDAY CARD IN CAJUN CRAZE

 

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Cajun Craze.  This rather polarising colour is one that I do not use very often ... but I really like how my card turned out.  I used Cajun Craze as the main colour on the card I made for my sister-in-law's recent milestone birthday.  She likes plants and flowers, and rustic/non-fussy.

I just had to use the beautiful new Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder - and what a beautiful result it gives on the Cajun Craze panel that I'd cut with a Deckled Rectangles Die.  I matted this on a larger rectangle of Shimmery White card, that I popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals (once I'd decorated the front, and added the baker's twine hanger).

On Shimmery White card, I stamped (in Old Olive ink) a wreath from Cottage Wreaths, and cut it out using the co-ordinating die.  A few flowers from Fond of Autumn were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, also on Shimmery White card, and coloured using Stampin' Blends.  The Cajun Craze flowers had some colour lifted (using the Color Lifter, no less), for a slightly blotchier look.  The centre flower was coloured in Petal Pink.  Old Olive Stampin' Blends were used for the leaves.

To the flower centres, I added white Elegant Faceted Gems.  They were coloured with a Petal Pink Stampin' Blends marker, but the effect is verrrrrry subtle!

I created the "60" using the Alphabest bundle.  The leafy tags were inked in Cajun Craze, stamped off twice onto scrap paper, then stamped onto Shimmery White card.  The numbers were stamped in full-strength Cajun Craze ink over the top, before being punched out.

On another piece of Shimmery White card, I stamped the sentiment from Celebrate With Tags in Old Olive ink, before cutting it out using a smaller Deckled Rectangles Die:
