The colour we're focussing on, for this week's Colour Creations blog hop, is Basic Gray. This is Stampin' Up!'s darkest grey, and perfect for my favourite type of card - masculine. I have paired Basic Gray with Soft Succulent, and incorporated lots of layers and texture.
The torn notepad-paper piece, along with the Soft Succulent stars, is from the He's The Man Designer Series Paper pack. There are two sheets of great die-cuts in the pack.
Using Basic Gray ink, and my Stamparatus, I stamped the sentiment (from Biggest Wish) directly onto the note paper die cut. I also stamped some stitched detail, courtesy of the Stitchery stamp set. After sponging the edges of the paper with Basic Gray ink, I adhered the focal piece to a panel of Basic Gray DSP (from the Neutrals 6"x6" collection). This paper was also sponged around the edges.
For the background, I used a woodgrain-patterned paper, from the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper pack. I sponged the edges in Basic Gray ink, adhered it to a Soft Succulent card mat, and layered it on a Basic Gray card panel that I'd embossed with the Timber 3D embossing folder.
I embellished my card with some diamond/argyle pieces, cut from Basic Gray card using All That Dies. Classic Matte Dots added a finishing touch.
