STAMPIN' UP! TULIP THANK YOU CARD IN SO SAFFRON

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about So Saffron, a soft yellow in Stampin' Up!'s colour range.

I have chosen a piece of  Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper that has So Saffron in the background, and have added a few other So Saffron elements.

How beautiful is that paper?  After stamping three tulips, from Timeless Tulips, in So Saffron ink on Basic White card, I punched them out using the matching Tulip Builder Punch.  I created a "basket" for the flowers to sit in, by die-cutting a piece of Basic White card with the largest hexagon die from the Beautiful Shapes Dies assortment.  After cutting the hexagon in half, I used my paper trimmer to score the top, to give the basket a "lip".  I then added some texture with the Checks & Dots embossing folder.

Across the join of the two different patterned papers on my card front, I added a tulip border cut from So Saffron card.  The bow on the pot/basket was made from White Crinkled Seam Binding, coloured with my Dark So Saffron Stampin' Blends marker.

Here's a closer look at the sentiment, from the Flowering Tulips bundle, which I stamped in So Saffron ink on Basic White card.  I cut it out with a circle die from Beautiful Shapes, and matted it on a scalloped circle cut from So Saffron card, using Layering Circles Dies.  So Saffron ink was sponged around the edges of the scalloped circle.  Some In Color Jewels add a bit of sparkle to my card.

STAMPIN' UP! CONGRATULATIONS CARD IN SMOKY SLATE

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is focussing on Smoky Slate, my favourite grey in Stampin' Up!'s Neutrals colour family.

I have designed a card that would be fitting for a wedding or engagement.  The beautiful embossed detail on the background piece of Smoky Slate card, along with the embossed and die cut focal heart, is courtesy of the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder (and matching dies).

I used the Dahlia Days bundle to create the stamped and die-cut flowers, and beautiful floral die-cut piece that provides detail behind the heart.  The flowers were stamped in Smoky Slate and Pale Papaya inks.

Using Adhesive Sheet on the back of the card pieces from which I cut the flowers (both stamped, and intricate layer) made it easy to cleanly adhere all the die-cut bits.

The sentiment, from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set, was stamped in Smoky Slate ink on Basic White card.  I used my Stamparatus, so I could ink and stamp the word several times, to achieve good depth of colour.  After cutting the sentiment out using a label die from the Beautiful Trees Dies, I used Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to raise it up on top of the heart.

Two lengths of White Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon were coloured with my Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends marker; this is how I created my custom-coloured bow.

Iridescent Rhinestones scattered around the card add a little sparkle, to finish off.

In this photo you can clearly see how I tucked the tails of the bow under the raised sentiment:

Inside the card, I added a Basic White card panel, stamped simply with some of the little flower clusters from Dahlia Days:
