HEART OF CHRISTMAS WEEK 15: STAMPIN' UP! GINGHAM COTTAGE WREATH CARD

The Christmas card I'm sharing tonight has a bit of a rustic, cottage-y, look, inspired by the beautiful Real Red gingham paper I chose for the background.

I have a thing for wreaths, and love little houses, on cards.  I die-cut a Garden Green wreath using Natural Prints Dies, and stamped a little house using the Ringed With Nature stamp set.

Due to my photography, and slightly wonky stamping of the sentiment, you're probably best to view this card with your head tilted to the side a little!

The beautiful sentiment, from Brightest Glow, was stamped in Real Red ink on a Deckled Rectangle cut from Basic White card.   After adhering this piece to the Gingham Cottage paper panel, I ran it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine with a Stitched With Whimsy Die, to add the stitched detail around the Deckled Rectangle.

The wreath was stuck down once I had layered the gingham paper on a Real Red card mat.  I added rhinestone "berries", created by colouring Champagne Rhinestones with a Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends marker.  Usually I would custom-colour Basic Rhinestones, but I have rather a glut of Champagne Rhinestones (that seldom get used on my projects) ... and they colour up nicely!

I stamped a little heart, in Crumb Cake ink on Basic White card, using a "multi heart" stamp from Celebrate With Tags.  This one's the largest of the hearts.  I cut it out using Paper Snips, then blended some Crumb Cake ink over the surface.

On Basic White card, I stamped the house in Crumb Cake ink, and the roof in Real Red ink, before fussy-cutting it and adding it to the wreath using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

STAMPIN' UP! SPLENDID THOUGHTS BIRTHDAY CARD IN GORGEOUS GRAPE

Tonight's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Gorgeous Grape, a beautiful mid-purple in Stampin' Up!'s colour range.

I've finally used the Splendid Thoughts bundle (stamps and dies) that I have had for months, but hadn't yet opened.  It is so beautiful, and versatile.  I'm looking forward to playing some more with it, using different colours.  My card today features Gorgeous Grape, gold and white:

It's a bit hard to photograph this purple ... it throws much bluer tones in my photos than in real life.

I started off by stamping two floral/leafy stems on Basic White card, using Versamark ink, and heat-embossing them in gold.  I used a Blending Brush to add Gorgeous Grape ink, before die-cutting them.  I arranged these pieces with die-cut leaves, in both gold and Gorgeous Grape, in a gold bowl/pot.  After cutting a Fabulous Frame from Gorgeous Grape card, I embossed the centre piece using the Timber 3D embossing folder.

I layered all these pieces on a Gorgeous Grape card panel, on which I'd stamped the same floral image in Gorgeous Grape ink.

Here's a closer look at the focal piece on my card:

The sentiment, from Happiness Abounds, was stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink on Basic White card, and cut out using a Stitched Rectangles die.  I was determined to use Gorgeous Grape glossy dots on my card (as they're so beautiful) ... but I may have got a little carried away. 😃

After adhering the Gorgeous Grape stamped panel to a Thick Basic White card base, I added a strip of Gold Metallic Paper.  This is the same paper I used to cut the bowl/pot (clearly I don't know what to call it).

STAMPIN' UP! CHRISTMAS CARD IN CHERRY COBBLER, GOLD & VERY VANILLA

While I had out my supplies to make this week's Heart of Christmas card, I created a second card in the same lovely festive colour scheme.

I used the "holey" circle die to create the beautiful cut-outs on Distressed Gold paper, and adhered this piece to a Very Vanilla card panel.

The Cherry Cobbler wreath was created using a Country Wreaths Die, and I added rhinestones that I'd coloured with my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends marker.

I stamped the sentiment, from Ringed With Nature, in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla card.  After cutting it out using a Stylish Shapes Die, I tucked it under a couple of leaves on the wreath before sticking it down.  I added a gold Brushed Metallic Dot either side of the sentiment.

Isn't the Distressed Gold paper just beautiful?

I cut a piece of Very Vanilla and gold Lights Aglow paper with a Basic Borders die, and layered it (along with the Distressed Gold focal panel) on another Lights Aglow DSP paper, and Cherry Cobbler card.

I think the Gold Satin-Edged Ribbon nicely softens the Distressed Gold panel.
